  1. Thanks again Muddy, I just posted a new thread in regards to the Diawa Tough & Light swimbait rods. Hopefully they will have some input. Again very much appreciated!
  2. Does anyone use them. Still up in the air for an inexpensive swimbait set-up. It almost seems like a contridiction in terms, "Tough & Light" for swimbaits? They have an 8' listed for swimbaits from 6" to 10" not lure wieght for $129.00. Never owned a Diawa rod but have been impressed with the Zillion reel as well as the new Tierra I just bought for jerking and topwater matched with the Quantum KVD signature rod. I'm not used to buying the lower end rods and reels and it just felt so wrong ;D yet again extremely happy with the Tierra and KVD 7'rod. Ok sorry I got off the subject a bit it's just the low price guilt setting in. Plan I matching the Diawa w/a Cardiff 300 for Matt Lures and 6" Hudd exclusively. I know we covered the swimbait thing before but trying to save up for a September fishing trip and trying to stay on the lower end. Thanks for your input in adavance!
  3. Thanks Muddy! I'm still up in the air on a swimbait rod for 1 to 3 oz or so and saw Gloomis had a Mooching rod listed rated for 1 to 5oz and was wondering what Mooching was. Thanks for the info gent's!
  4. I throw the 1/2oz Chatters and always have a trailer attached
  5. I also tried this last year on two different occassions at Long pond in Harwich MA. 10 to 2 they went for the clawed Huddbug (rigged on a pro spot remover)over the Huddbug with 1 claw missing. I believe it had something to do with the clawed Huddbug having more action.
  6. ;D thanks for the laugh! ;D
  7. Should have googled it first rather then bother all of you. Primarily used for Atlantic Salmon http://www.rodrack.net/rodbuilding/article10.htm
  8. Is it difficult to make a suspending version of your swimbaits? Thanks
  9. Yeah but I'm 46 ;D and been around awhile
  10. Wondering why the EVO only comes in black in 3/16 and 5/16 but not the heavier models? Also wondering how one would go about changing skirts? I have had a heck of a time attempting this.
  11. Becareful a Dick's the ones around here still have the old model w/the 40lb weedgaurd. Best to get them through this site w/the 70lb weedgaurd;)

  13. Deps Buzzjet LC Gunfish 115 Huddbug Senko 5" Silverbuddy Shakyhead Forgot to add Matt lures
  14. Very nice!
  15. Congrats on your new PB! I would like to offer some advice if that's ok. Try your best to get the fish back in the water as soon as possible and avoid laying them on the ground for any length of time. If you put them back healthy they will grow much bigger for your new person best in the years to come
  16. Hey guys thanks a bunch! I was truly starting to think it was just me. Extremely appreciated!
  17. Thank you and I appreciate your help but I have tried that as well. Completely dumbfounded :-/
  18. I'm using a Berkley spooling station making sure the spool is centered. Yet every baitcaster always seems to load just a bit more line on the right/handle side of the reel. What can I do to correct this? Or is it just the loose nut behind the spool? Thanks for your advice!
  19. It has it's pro's and con's in like any other jig. At one point it was the only jig in my bag. Then I stopped using it all together and my numbers went down along with my confidence. After giving it a second chance to prove itself it's now my first choice for open water and my bag is restocked.
  20. Good info I just started using the Rage tails and really like what I see! Never thought about saving and repairing, thank you.
  21. :'(Looks like I won't be making it to Cobbee this spring after all!
  22. Howdjya make out with the boat ?
  23. Conn and Mass both have EPO fees witch in some cases you pay even if thy don't show I don't remmber the number of boats If i recall in correctlty any tourny over 24 or 25 boats in MA require the presence of env. police and $200 to get him/her there. :'(
  24. Gheeeeeeees, keep in suspense why don't you! :-/ I believe the above statement is a plot of deception ;D
