  1. You can use whatever you want, but the KVD L&L product is far superior. I was a Real Magic user for years, one try of KVD L&L and I was sold.
  2. Since switching to a modified Albright, or Alberto knot, any breakage issues have disappeared, at least at the leader connection. Interesting that so many people fear connection knots. Granted, I use a much longer, and slower action rod, but for salmon and steelhead fishing, my rig typically has five knots, six if I use a bead. That system is interesting, but not interesting anough to switch over 100%. There are MANY situations when it's far preferable to use straight line.
  3. Pink doesn't work on browns either....
  4. I would NOT fish a spinnerbait on a medium-moderate rod. Spinnerbaits may superficially seem similar, but the hooks and hooksets are COMPLETELY different. A fast or x-fast taper on a medium or medium heavy rod, depending on the weight of the bait, will drive that big hook home at distance. Use your jerkbait/topwater rod for them instead. That will make a great sniper style rod for hitting precise targets like docks, weed openings, rock piles, etc. For line, I use 12# Trilene 100% Fluoro or 10# P-Line CXX for cranking. Topwaters, jerks, spinnerbaits, 12# P-line CXX works fine for me. You can sub Yo-Zuri Hybrid for any of those as well. Always pretreat your line with KVD Line & Lure.
  5. Simplification? Resistance is futile.

  7. Ask their share holders, not the dolt that answers the phone.
  8. Welcome, we have quite a few from Maine on here. Check the Northeast Board: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/forum/15-northeast-bass-fishing/
  9. Ten car lengths? try towing a boat on the Cross Bronx Xpressway three hours before a Yankees game. Those idiots are so use to squeezing in behind your bumper, many tried to get between my truck and my boat when drove it back from Long Island!
  10. Scott, they kill pink and orange jerkbaits up here...a "not so much a secret anymore" in my circles. Look what's flying over my head: And what it caught: Why they would work for hardbaits, and not soft is probably a myth. I still ain't throwing an orange worm, LOL.
  11. But what color haven't/won't you try? Black and white is another I've seen that I never tried.
  12. Pretty easy to come by on the for sale forums. Tyrns out they are pretty specific river current applcations, and aren't the best lake boats.
  13. You'll know whether you can paddle or not, sometimes it's all in the technique. I've had AC joint issue for a few years now, I use my core for paddle, barely move my shoulders. You can also hook up electric motors to any kayak. But if you have a 15 hp laying around, get a tinny. I'd go as wide as possible for what I could lift.
  14. Triple Fish, Seaguar, Maxima.... You are looking for Saltwater Fluoro Leaders: http://triplefishusa.com/store/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=29
  15. Here's what I'd get before getting a tin can: http://www.wildernesssystems.com/product/index/angling/angling_kayaks/Commander_angler/commander_140_angler/
  16. Opaque orange or yellow would be ones I never tried. Ohers that are see through orange like pumpkin I've had luck with, but those usually have flakes in them. What's funny is trout, salmon, and steelhead go nuts for all those solid colors - white, pink, orange, yellow, green. Bright green would be another. They always have flakes in them.
  17. For the weight, slide a bullet style weight on, and tie a split ring on the end.
  18. Off topic, but take a look at the butt dragger heads baits: http://www.confidencebaits.net/index.html. They were designed by my friend Jeff Little for fishing the Susquehanna River. They overcome many of the pitfalls of bait eating rivers.
  19. Smugmug works great if you need long term, customizable storage and security options. It costs $40 a year, but I have a coupon code. Pm for details.
  20. I get the photobucket option - same goes for any image file. What I was looking for was to bypass an image hosting site and upload directly to here, like Facebook
