  1. LOL, like KVD. He sucks at tournaments.
  2. I can't really offer much more than that. Blades in spring and fall seem to work really well on tough days.
  3. I only meant for off color water. Other baits work better in cold, dirty water than jerks. For me at least.
  4. As long as there is 2 to 3 feet of visibility, and the water isn't below 50°, it's fine. That's what the rattles are for. Jerkbaits actually excel in those conditions. But the fish have to be at least moving around, as opposed to neutral or nearly inactive fish in ice cold, crystal clear water, where a loooooong pause can actually ignite a bite. Just two different philosophies applied to one bait.
  5. Usually it doesn't take too much to get bit on either. I'd rethink location, and timing - maybe you're in the wrong spot or the fish are there, just not chasing. Also, most new guys see KVD burning up the gears on TV, and try to emulate that style. Try slowing down, way down. Picture you crankbait as a distracted, feeding baitfish.
  6. In fall, you should come out to Chaumont Bay for Burnie Haney's Bug Bass Tournament in October. Biggest largemouth /smallmouth - winner takes all. It's really not much, mostly for bragging rights, but we get a bunch of boats for this. This fish got me on the leader board (I weighed in 1st, LOL). Burnie won it all with this fish.
  7. I can bring my bulldog as a prop, if you like.
  8. I've only handled one, and not in pieces or on the water. Can't say, but since it's basically a souped up PX68, it should make a great reel even better. If you don't like Diawa, take a pass. These reels are very Daiwa.
  9. I believe it's press fit, but no way I'd touch that mod with a ten foot pole.
  10. Just a dumb question, why not put the 10 up front, where you have more room and the viewing distance is greater? I mean, I spend WAYYY more time fishing than driving. Just curious.
  11. I ate a box of raspberry Pims. I deeply regret this, LOL.
  12. Welcome! What club you fishing?
  13. Nope, haven't forgot. It was yesterday, sent him a text. He's been offline lately, but says hello to everyone.
  14. This was an attempt at a federal ban. It would have been for ALL states.
  15. I see. Maybe Wayne knows.
  16. I didn't think you could do shoot through with SI....
  17. Commander 12 and 14 are flat water boats. Light current, maybe. Since they are a hybrid, they are not self bailing. Easy to stand in, and they have the captain's perch seating. I own a OK PBG. It's not that long in terms of relative length. It's one the widest hulls available. It has the greatest capacity, and is easy for a big boy to not only stand, but do a dance while fishing. Downside, it's heavy, and tracks like a sheet of plywood. The rudder kit is a must have. Otherwise, it's a great big water boat. Not so ideal in current. Ride 115 is a good compromise, stand, rivers, lakes, waves, all good. Coosa. I was hot on this boat before it came - seemed too good to be true. It's a good boat, has some useful features. It's probably the most often seen boat for sale used. Not for me. Now that I have a bass boat, my next kayak will be a Ride 115. That'll do everything I need when the bass boat can't.
  18. If' I'm banging rip rap or rock piles, I use a 7' MH/Mod action graphite rod. For snapping off weeds, I prefer a faster taper, a 7' M/F works great for me.
  19. After playing with a HDS 8 and a HDS 8 Gen 2 side my side, the Gen 2 is way faster.
  20. Sorry, this is a family site, LMAO. Other than DNA testing, I know of no 100% reliable method. I've never really cared about what gender the fish I catch are.
  21. I would pass on that boat.
  22. Another vote for the Catch and Release products. https://www.sure-life.com/
  23. #6 and #8 are working great on perch....
