  1. 10-12 up, and 10-12 back????? Seems like a lot of wraps to try to manage, especially on a windy day while trying to stay on the trolling motor. I use 30# braid w/12# fluoro and join them with uni to uni...4 wraps on the braid, 3 on the fluoro, lots of saliva. Works great for me. v Its the same trouble for two wraps as it is 20. Hold the line like this video, and you're golden:
  2. I actually think that he'll win with that stupid swimbait.
  3. I don't think I could skip a jig with a spinner. How is that done? Its pretty easy with a baitcaster. Not trying to argue, I'm really curious. I'm talking 1/2 to 3/4 oz. jigs.
  4. They are horrible. Plus, you have to calibrate the "fighting drag" if the reel as one.
  5. 1. Yes. Try 8# leader for 20# Power Pro. 2. Alberto knot....10-12 up, and 10-12 back.
  6. There are several strip pits that have huge Am. Shad in them up here. Some are a foot long and pound or so.

  9. Whoa!!! Hold up there Rooster. You might want to specify which reels you have that came that way. I've got several Shimano Symetere's a Sahara & more than a few Okuma bait runners and tho they all came with extra spools none came with extra drag washers. They were all NIB. Just didn't want anybody to get misled. There's nothing to quantify: Since a front drag spinner has the washers contained in the spool assembly, by default, you get extra washers, if you get an extra spool. Spools on a rear drag reel have no washers (its a rear drag....) and therefore you get no extras.
  10. Uhhhh, yep, and so are a great many more. Tell me, what fish have you caught that would not have caught with a snoopy rod combo. Be specific, exactly what features helped you overcome circumstances that any other gear would have surely failed you. Personally, this sounds like something posted to illicit a response from specific members.
  11. Asked my mom about this....they had the SAME THING in rural western NY when I was in grammar school, in the late 70s. LOL. She thought it was funny that that they harped on this point, yet taught evolution without batting an eye. Personally, WHATEVS!!! There's WAYYYY too much process spent on notions that are meaningless, in the grand scheme of things. I mean really? Its the freaking Pledge! I'd say it at risk of waterboarding, but I wouldn't fret over a permission slip to say it.

I'm on my second pair of Wolverines in about 7 years. They do hold up well, and are about as comfortable a shoe as any, for a steel toe boot. Here's what I'm wearing right now: http://www.wolverine.com/US/en-US/Product.mvc.aspx/G-W-S-N/21853M/0/Work/Style/New-Arrivals/Mens/Saturn-Wolverine-6-inch-ST-EH-Boot
  13. I love holiday anger, LMAO.
  14. Sounds thoughtless to me. Take the money you spend on yourself, and use it to buy presents for the children of the less fortunate. Your church should be able to provide names of a worthy recipient.

  17. My buddy's family does that. They each give eachother money to spend on themselves a month before christmas, they buy what they want, give it to the person who paid for it, the person wraps it and puts it under the tree for christmas. I'm always jealous when he comes back from shopping on black friday with his christmas gifts. OK, dumb question: Why bother with all the gyrations, and just buy yourself what you want?
