  1. You get these at the optometrist....that's just the website. :
  2. www.rudyproject.com for prescription sunglasses.
  3. My friend Chad Hoover (google him, interesting guy) calls them "pause baits."
  4. Dodge, I find it very amusing that this sticks in your craw so much that you've been spewing about it for over a year. A rod with a balance point not at the center of the reel seat isn't always what is most comfortable to fish. You're just too stubborn to admit that anything other than what you say is right can also possibly be right as well. Jeez. BTW, for poops and giggles, I checked the balance points of some reels. Daiwa TD-X103hsdl, TD-X103hsd, Zillion, Fuego, Quantum Accurist, and all my spinning reels do not balance in the center of the foot. Goes against something I thought was sort of a constant. Makes sense when you consider my example of the difference in my Avid AVC70MHF with a TD-A and a TD-X on it.
  5. And I thought my Thule was expensive. For that I could buy a tin motor boat and trailer. :
  6. For both baits, its all about the pause....
  7. Big 'Bride of Frankenstein' fan? Man, that's pretty sad. Sounds like a fun ride.
  8. They're both proven catchers.
  9. Wayyyy too much skill required. Just drop some Rotenone on some prime aquatic real estate, and scoop the bodies up with a net. Our dead fish penalty is only 4 oz., (insert inappropriately long evil laughter here).
  10. I thought these had two brake shoe pins. You either ran them full on, or took them off. I recently rebuilt a similar Daiwa Prolight, adding a bunch of bearings and composite line guide, and that reel casts as well as any modern reel. And its lighter to boot!! I wish they'd come out with a modern interpretation of these sexy little devils!
  11. Its neater. Less cleanup that way. I used to over coat the gears, let them mesh, and wipe off the excess that squeezed out. You definitely don't want gear grease in the drag stack, burns up too easily.
  12. Yep. I unwittingly broke the law several times on Port Bay, when I was younger. Last year I saw some of my handiwork sitting on the bank near our old dock.... :-?
  13. You know what's funny, I can cast plugs the farthest on my short topwater/jerkbait rod. So far, no way I'm guaranteed a hookset. That's probably more a function of the bait's weight and the reel, though.
  14. Already answered above. Same fish. One from the back, one from the front.
  15. I don't limit myself, LOL. Carry 12 rods and 80# of baits.
  16. I took those for another foruym. The theme was baits that actually caught good fish, and what percentage. I was about 40% von TW and jerks, but around 30% for cranks and traps. Some guys had hundreds of baits, and listed like three that worked, LOL.
  17. No puppies, those are full size Spooks.
  18. Proper greasing starts with a spotless cleaning. No point in doing anything if the reel isn't completely stripped down and scrubbed clean. A small paiunt brush with, trimmed to about 1/4" works for greasing gears. I press the grease into each tooth with the brush. If you're lust filling the teeth up to the peaks, you aren't getting deep into the teeth, and probably using too much.
  19. The ones with the lips are the jerkbaits that have caught for me.
  20. Ah, the semantics police are hot on the trail. Justice is served! Glenn, its NY, so legal semantics abound. Unintentional foul hooking, like with a crankbait or hard jerk would be OK. Snagging or snatching is defined in the guide as intent to hook a fish by sweeping or lifting the rad in order to hook a fish any where. So, what's funny to you, could mean a big fine and you boat and gear confiscated to others.
