Site suggestion: Kayak specific forum
I've been kayak fishing for nearly 20 years now. I'm steadfast against any more sub forums because it silos information from groups that might not otherwise show interest. In fact, I've never browsed topics via forum categories. I look at threads I'm following and new threads. Putting kayak fishing in a silo wouldn't benefit that aspect of the sport. It's probably before your time in a kayak, but there were a few kayak only forums on the interwebz. Where are they now?

Looking for how people fish finesse in deeper waters
Look at grubs, drop shot, and jigging spoons. None of there feel very finesse, but they work.

Pitching mono diameter
This is really about fishing in thick grass and wood, not really just pitching. My short answer, I would not choose mono for this. That said forced to, it would be at least 20#. But I'll stick to my 50# braid because it works so well for me.

Share Your Favorite Jigs
I fish mostly Siebert jigs but keep a few Buckeye Mop jigs around for good measure.

question about this forum. why do some of my post need to be vetted first?
The software will automatically mark posts in high traffic threads. It isn't always about the content. I used to have to approve many of my own posts when I was a mod here.

Cast iron pans.
Not sure why you are singling an out of context comment in a quote. It wasn't directed at you. No single pan can do it all. You aren't going to get any fond in a non stick pan. Likewise, cooking an egg in a poorly seasoned pan is worlds worse than cooking an egg in a non stick pan. Different tools....Anyone can hammer in a screw and call it lasagna, lol.

Cast iron pans.
The most even heat comes from the right size burner on gas flame. It has zero to do with the pan. Wrong flame on your great grandmothers pan and the meal is only so-so. Get over your obsession with pans. Cook how you know to cook.

Technique you used to hate but now grown to love
Carolina Rig. Haha! Just kidding, it's still dumb! In all seriousness, it's got to be the shallow square bill deal. Never got it until I started throwing them where I'd normally throw jigs. You'll lose a few but it's pretty fun to fish a moving bait in brush.

Cast iron pans.
I use All Clad stainless and non stick. I do have two very old cast iron pans that get used quite a bit. Each are just tools, but none are always the right pan for the task.

Working to Stay Lean ~
Pool day for me tonight. d**n that always hurts after. Weird but satisfying. Plus I got to hang in there with my 3 yo.

Why do people leave their lures just hanging there when not in use?
The angle of the dangle is directly related…

Why do people leave their lures just hanging there when not in use?
Me too. My reason is that I either have to grab the net quickly or the angler is a follow up bait that needs to be in ready mode.

why do some LMB have very prominent teeth?
Could water chemistry also play a part?

Anyone else get burned out on this site or social media stuff in general?
I'm certainly not normal. Ask my wife. She's always asking me why am I so broken, lol.

Anyone else get burned out on this site or social media stuff in general?
I wouldn't say I was burned out, but after 13 years of pouring over every post as a moderator and also doing some admin stuff like maintaining the Flea Market and approving new posts, I was ready to enjoy this forum as a normal member. I'm actually more interested in the forum now. It's refreshing to ignore new posts for two days and come back to see all the great info being shared. Love this place!

What pound test of Sufix 832 braid should I go with?
10# braid on a bait caster? That's a nope for me.

What pound test of Sufix 832 braid should I go with?
I'd go the other way and spool up some 50#.

Question about U-40.
I think plastic wood "golden oak" is the color you want for filler. Sand them with fine grit, clean them and apply two thin coats. They'll look like new
