  1. Spraying for weeds or harvesting weeds seems as bad for the fishery as all the lawn chemicals. The algae seems to be able to bloom faster than weeds can grow, and blocks out all the light for the weeds. So you end up with pea soup water, and no cover. It's a game changer for sure, when you're used to fishing the lake with weeds. There's one place where there's a mansion built on what was several small cabin's worth of property. The lawns are golf course green quality, and certainly fertilized and watered. The water near the break wall almost fluoresces on bright days. Fishing used to be good on that point, but not so much.
  2. It's not even noon!
  3. Hmmm. I don't see many on the water throwing them. I have one tied on full time. Sometimes more than one rigged up. Any stores around me have at least one side of the aisle with inventory, so they must be popular. It's proven fish catcher.
  4. My back up plan usually centers around location. If I'm not doing well, it's a good time to go exploring.
  5. I don't see why you'd stick to one brand, unless you were sponsored. There's so many great baits out there, I like to pick a few from several makers. If I absolutely had to stick to one, I'd say Ragetail baits would cover most of it for me, but I'd still throw OG Senkos, too.
  6. I always match my shoes to my purse.
  7. I feel less ridiculous and catch more fish using a jitterbug for bass. That said, the big WP is a very good northern pike bait.
  8. Sorry! I got that wrong - forgot about the change. It was going to be $48K. BASS is actually paying Elite anglers $500 to fish. There's a guaranteed payout, and a $20K reduction. Anglers do have to pay up front though.
  9. Incorrect. Entry fees are actually a bit higher than Elites. See thread I linked to above for breakdown, nad how this played out. Wait, no fees in 2019, in response to the BASS deal.
  10. I have double of my two favorite drop shot rods. AVS63MLXF and AVS63MXF. I have plenty of 7 MH and 7M rods on hand as well, though not all the same rod.
  11. I load my Compass stern first, whether into the bed of my pickup, or roof of the Matrix. It was awkward at first, but you'll get the hang of it. Congrats on the new boat!
  12. When did they dump all their pro staffers? Wasn't that like 2010. Didn't really affect sales then. They probably did a ROI analysis, and decided it wasn't paying off to continue.
  13. Already have 20 pages of discussion:
  14. I know a guy that tows his wake boat with his Z06.
  15. Action is how to describe what the rod does under load. Taper is what affects that action. The two can be used interchangeably. Power refers to stoutness of the rod.
  16. Next steps: call your lawyer and the local DNR.
  17. I've dumped paddles off pretty quick using craigslist.
  18. I was talking about extenders.
  19. A simple google search returns several options and lengths.
  20. I use a concave back support seat.
  21. Turn private browsing off?
  22. Here's a shot of it. Reminds a bit of my OG PBG:
  23. Spoons, hands down, are my favorite.
  24. The clip is for my girlfriend's boat, Wildy Commnder 140. I'm rolling in a Hobie Compass Mirage Drive. Good to know about the cutters. Hopefully it replaces two tools while on the water.
