  1. You sound EXACTLY like a true Bills fan.
  2. Bet watching them lose four SBs was fun. At least I got to watch my Cowboys beat them two years in a row.
  3. I didn't. My point was made above, though the weight of the batteries is equivalent to 91 gallons of gas, so point taken. Side note on run times... my Merc Racing ProMax will go through around 30 gallons of gas in one hour at WOT. The tank is 25 gallons.
  4. Oh, heck yeah! Throw some Blizzaks on the front rims and get it!
  5. I totally get that, just pointing out the actual stats. Also, that list is for “major cities.” Obviously, there are places that get more snow on more days. It used to make me laugh when our call center in Dallas would close for an inch of snow, and we get an ice storm after a foot of snow, with half the city out of power, and I get docked a sick day to stay home and keep my basement from flooding, lol
  6. Fourscore and four years ago... Check out the prices on organic no stir peanut butter. Store brand is $20 for two jars. Think about that. Saw some “cold pressed” organic OJ that was $16 for a quart.
  7. Funny you mention it. 490 was a parking lot this morning. All it takes is a couple of fender benders and the commute immediately quadruples. Caledonia to ROC is a long haul. Good ole' ROC
  8. Weather and boat traffic will be your limiting factors, not the size of the water. You also probably should check out this thread. Everything you ever wanted to know is in there.
  9. I use 50-80# and 15# Seaguar Blue Label leader when facing zebes. The other option is 20# AbrasX. I don't generally prefer braid and a leader, but the limpness of braid makes the system a little more manageable.
  10. Play is exactly the term I'd use for bass. It sure isn't a fight. I've said it before, if you're in it for the fight, there are other species that will fight. Regardless, if you're bending hooks, and others that fish like you aren't then you need to look at what else you might be doing wrong. I fish some heavy cover and use some pretty heavy handed tactics to land fish, and I don't bend hooks. Everyone likes to say, "but my cover is heavier...." but I've fished many places on the east coast, from Vermont to Florida, and while cover varies, every place has areas of "heavy cover" that poses about the same challenge. Be glad you don't have EU milfoil with zebra mussels growing on the stalks. That's fun.
  11. There's ZERO horsing a king. The initial run is literally unstoppable. They don't bend hooks - they break them.
  12. No one makes excuses for winning.
  13. We just add 10 minutes to our commute. Stay safe!
  14. Since I use the rod for these presentations, and it's fairly tough on the hands, I've used whatever was more comfortable, and adjusted to whatever gear ratio the reel had.
  15. I've seen walleye runs in spring. It's amazing. They're off limits here, though.
  16. A little R&R at a local hotel and spa. Pregame with some white wine, then dinner and jazz by Gap Mangione.
  17. Sounds a lot like back-trolling, but more efficient.
  18. You'll flip a canoe MUCH easier than you'll flip a kayak designed for standing and fishing. I on fact know many that made the switch due to flipping their canoe. Note the double sponson running the length of the hull on my Hobie Compass. You'd fall out before you turtle it. In testing it took some really intentional stupidity to get it to roll. They're already using light weight, lithium batteries. It's only a matter of time. Torqeedo has a 150 equivilent in the works. I'd be interested to know run times, charge times, and weight. I'm sure it will be way too expensive to be really practical.
  19. Why? This salmon was caught on a #10 hook. The smallmouth was caught using a #6. You match the hook to the size of the bait. If you're bending hooks out, then you aren't properly setting the drag. With smaller baits, I mean finesse fishing, you use finesse gear. It's not a smash and grab affair. There's really nothing wrong with what you're doing, except when it doesn't work. Then it might be time to bust out something smaller and lighter.
  20. I'm from New York, so there's probable a few f-bombs thrown in.
  21. Content is my side hustle.
  22. Are they really usually only 18-23? It takes that to win up here, on most lakes.
