  1. It's the galvanized rivets then. I had them on my Ocean Kayak Prowler Big Game handles and they held up fine. That hull was 84 lbs.
  2. Some interesting thoughts on big bass here: Quite a bit of research documented in Kieth Jones' Knowing Bass says they do indeed start to ignore baits after having bitten them.
  3. That tax has been in place since the 70s.
  4. If it gets you off the water... I put scraps silent traction on the pulleys themselves. It looks like you already have side handles. Is that true? At any rate, seems like you could access that area through the center hatch. Also, I thought galvanization was to PREVENT rust? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galvanization
  5. He was never much of a fisherman. It was my other grandfather (passed 30 years ago) that planted the fishing seeds. Charlie instilled a work ethic in anyone that worked for his restaurant. Do it right, or don't bother doing it at all. He's got a long way to go. His mother lived to be 103.
  6. Don't drill, use a soldering iron, much cleaner.
  7. Big Pappa turned 90 yesterday.
  8. The wellnuts will work for the trolley - that's what is holding my trolley on the Hobie Compass. I wouldn't use them for handles. What kind of boat is it?
  9. Yep. An expensive Jika rig.
  10. Most SBer's use 20-25 lb. mono or copoly. I like 20 lb. CXX for this.
  11. This 100%. I switched a few years ago, and rust is a thing of the past. The only thing I use a waterproof container for is my wallet, keys, etc. Something I'll never need to open when it's wet. Waterproof boxes only trap water in, and then you have to leave them out to dry before closing them.
  12. Mobile certificates are a pain.
  13. All modern outboards have a cavitation plate. You step on it, and use the manual trim on the side of the motor to hoist you up. It’s almost easier than a ladder.
  14. That's the beauty of gear tracks. Us kayakers put that stuff everywhere.
  15. Gen Two gear track: https://www.yakattack.us/by-application/mounting-systems-and-hardware/
  16. That's the exact one. I bet you can even use the the gear track on the gunnel.
  17. Scotty make a fly rod holder that a lot kayakers use.
  18. A 6-6 to 6-10 medium fast casting rod would be a decent compromise for those baits. I really like my Okuma Scott Martin TCS Casting Rod 6'9" Med Hvy as well. I would not rate a MH, and its not as slow as a cranking stick, but not as fast as a jig rod. A little up the line is my Avid 6-8 MF. Depends on what you want to spend.
  19. I think you're right about that. I don't think these are the resident, deep fish. I think these fish are the ones that disappear out in the main lake, and chase bait balls, and don't set up shop on the typical structure we look for deep.
  20. I don't know...it's on their site: https://s22.postimg.cc/i5d08v1gx/berkley_Havoc.jpg
  21. They probably aren't hacked accounts. They were created yesterday. Most likely bogus.
  22. Those 0 rated sellers looks really fishy to me.
  23. But seriously, this is some cool information.
