15 to 50'. Depth makes no difference.

I have four setups with 6 lb. fluoro. 2x Avid AVS63MLXF 2x Avid AVS63MXF All have a Stradic CI4 2500 Most guys up here on Ontario and Erie are using Fluoro. There's a few that use braid, and that's cool too. I just don't see the issues everyone complains about. I troll out the line at the end of the day. Takes five minutes. The issue is the inherent twist generated by a spinning reel. Close and seat your line by hand, keep your bait centered on the hook, and avoid super high speed reeling up from the depths. I normally don't buy into the clear line buying you bites, but in this case, I feel more bites with the denser fluoro. If it didn't work, I wouldn't use it.

I have 4 year old Invisx on my primary DS rod. You just troll it out at the end of the day. Takes like 5 minutes. If the braid is working for you, then stick to that. It will get twist too, only then you're dealing with wind knots. Same solution for that - troll it out. ********************************************* Once I watched a guy give a DS seminar at the Bass Pro Tank. He recommended braid and a leader. Said it made easy to detect any strike. Well, when he would pitch the rig out maybe 15' or so, there was so much bow in the line, he had no idea that these HUGE steelhead were taking the bait every time. It was eye opening to me, and kind of funny. I wasn't the only one that noticed this either. Personally, I think he was using way too light a weight, but the image of him not feeling vicious strikes is vivid in my memory. I still use one of my six DS rigs with braid and a leader, but only for shallower, weedy presentations. Any deep, clear water and it's straight fluoro.

I had a few Daiwa reels from the late 80s that had an anti-reverse on/off switch. Only really useful for trolling.

This will pretty much give you everything. A splake is a lake/brook hybrid, as I explained above. The main thing to look for in a laker are vermiculite patterns on the dorsal surface. A splake will be spotted. Both can have spots on the sides. Either way, good looking fish.

It's a myth. Not going to argue this anymore. Ask a marine biologist if it's a good idea to pour soda down a fishes throat.

And I'm calling BS on that. Find some research that conclusively says that acidic liquids cause blood to clot. (A clue: You won't find any.) You can keep doing what you're doing, but rest assured you're doing more damage than help to the fish. My favorite part of this myth is when it's a specific brand of soft drink. I've even seen debates where it has to be diet.

It works because it's liquid.

I prefer moderate action graphite rods. I use a 7-11 MH/Moderate with a 5.5:1 reel spooled with 12# Tatsu or Rippin'.

There's a new update out there. I had some video issue on my iPad. Went away after an update.

Never had a Duo-Loc open up on me. I think they are #3. Anyway, I'll be trying those Spro snaps out for sure. There's no way for those to open up.

The trick I found with Speed Clips was to toss them in the trash. Could never get them to be fast.

This has been my experience as well. I leave the hook in the tongue until just before weigh in, and release quickly. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I try.

You can't be sloppy with fluoro. There's little margin for error, whether it's knots, backlashes, or line twist. Line is a very personal choice. If someone can't stand one type, and I like it, I'm not offended. I don't think less of the other guy for not liking it. There times one's choice in line makes no sense, but if it's working for them, great. When it doesn't, and they run into problems, that's we are all here for. Also, @A-Jay is a knuckle-dragger-leader-tying-braid-only-on-spinning.

iPhone sometimes chokes on video when NOT on LTE (4G) or 3G network. The Edge network just doesn't support the bandwidth for video playback. Check to see your connection. If you have wifi, you might want to reset the router. After that, you might want to contact your provider.

No, not in the decade plus of trying different fluoro lines. If you get hung and yank until it breaks, yes, the end will get deformed. Strip off a few yards, and retie. Never happened from casting. Get your hands on some KVD Line & Lure conditioner. Spray on when spooling and after every trip. The stuff keeps all lines in tip top shape.

No, those are for back trolling. Just learn how to modulate the throttle at he right time. Just takes a gentle blip.

Not sure where you got that information from, but I'd ignore everything else from that source. Braid with cranks can be done, but it's not something I prefer. I use 12# Tatsu for most of my deep cranking. I have line that is two seasons old, and it's just fine. I'm currently testing a new mono from Seaguar called Rippin'. So far, it's pretty good. 12# size line strikes a good balance between strength and diameter. Too thick, and your bait doesn't get to depth. Too thin, and you'll break off, or have issues in cover.

You probably need to remove the pan, and I'll bet its secured from the back of that.
