  1. I'm not suggesting laziness. I'm suggesting less effort for the payoff. If you live next to a pizza joint, you're gonna eat pizza more often than burgers, which are ten miles down the road.
  2. My observations are similar to yours. I have a couple spots where the pike and bass intersect, but usually it's one or the other. There's one place, where there's so many BIG northerns, the only bass that would survive would be over 4#, or they'd probably eaten. They're mostly there to eat the summer run rainbows and stockings.
  3. Usually an offer is extended to anyone willing to volunteer. The $$ amount goes up, until there is a taker, or their maximum amount is reached. Then it's a random draw. That's not how this went down. United has always been the pits. This just confirms it. I haven't had to fly in YEARS. If after the TSA pat downs, baggage searches, screening, check-ins and finally getting to my seat, I'd be pretty upset if all they offered was $400 for the seat. Imagine, you're seated at a table after a 20 minute wait, you've ordered your food. It's delivered to your table, and as you're about to sink your teeth into a juicy steak. Then the manager grabs thew food, and tells you to leave, because an employee needs to eat. You resist, the guy grabs you, and attempts to forcibly remove you from your seat. Somebody slips, you smash your face on the corner of the table, knocking you out momentarily, while you are dragged out of the restaurant. Am I missing something? How is that any different? If I have a restaurant, I can refuse service to anyone, as long as it isn't discrimination (even then, I'm not sure, though it's nasty PR issue). There's no contract that says I can't throw you out. I think anyone blaming the old man for his injuries has lost sight of dignity and rights we supposed to have in this country. Violence was the wrong call here, especially so quickly.
  4. But there's a hole in your own statement. Are the biggest bass the best fed, or do the least to find their food?
  5. I've never used braid that light. The 15# Power Pro is about as fine as I'll go.
  6. Fixed that. Was using Kastking pink braid and one of their reels. Landed a 25# carp (not really what I after, but what the heck), and the stuff held up fine. I did use mid level Pinnacle rod.
  7. For that application, I use 12# CXX. Braid isn't necessary for any of those baits. Braid doesn't fit into my "all purpose" frame.
  8. Only five? Forget it. I'll just take ten Planos full of cranks.
  9. Can't answer any of those questions until stating specifically why you want to add a leader to a specific rig. For example: I want to use braid on my dock jig rod, but the line (50#) is hard to break off when I get hung up. Pick a leader material that is strong enough for the hook set, but can broken with out too much pulling. 10# co-poly would be a good choice here.
  10. Seasoned travelers know that this is how you get the airline to up it's payoff for the seat. You refuse their offer, until they make an their top offer. Something is completely off in this particular scenario - even the airline said so. Why it escalated so quickly isn't quite known. The airline should have offered more money. Heck, a woman that writes for the travel industry was offered $11,000 for her and her family leave a flight.
  11. Were the eggs loose? Or in a slab of skein?
  12. You need database skills (MySQL or SQL Server), C# .Net, and something like Ionic. There's others, like Xamarin. There's even others that don't require coding, but their capability is limited. Android apps are pretty easy to release. Apple is really picky, and have a slow release cycle.
  13. Robalo has a strong following here on the south shore of Ontario. They have a couple of models that are an ideal smallie fishing machine.
  14. As Reggie would say, "That is 100% correct."
  15. I caught a 20+ lb. carp yesterday. The Kastking worked fine. Might even better, now that it has some Euro-trash-fish mojo, lol.
  16. I fish a lake, only accessible via a private launch. There is NO FISHING docks, period. You caught, and the ramp owner bans you. This is the lake that produced a 7-1, just one ounce shy of my PB from my state. I abide.
  17. Totally! I will say that my favorite shaky head baits float.
  18. KTBA does a double shot team format. Two weigh ins, best combined weight wins.
  19. Not a pointless rant at all! I love these types of posts. I can only add one word to the discussion of the biggest bass in the lake: specialized. It seems like the big ones have figured out something different, and that's what has provided them with success. It's also frustrating for us, trying to figure them out.
  20. Not sure I was nasty. Sorry you took it that way.
  21. Some guy named Noel caught smallies on Honeoye today. He's shady.
  22. I caught a carp today. City Dump lived up to its name.
  23. Drove by the City Dump this morning. Looks like I'll be fishing in a lake of Guinness Stout. Ugh.
  24. Oh sure, add in Dottie, too. I guess my point is, there's no controversy over the world record. It's settled in my mind. Did Perry lie? Who cares. There's a bigger fish on the books.
