  1. NICE FISH! I have to get a pic of my T-reigns leash for keeping kayak'd bass while you rummage around for the camera gear, scale, etc. It's basically a slide track mount zip leash with a cull tag attached to it.
  2. Strike King also makes nice replacements. They have the build in trailer for guys like me who don't use a plastic trailer. The only trailer I use is a trailer hook.
  3. I learned this from Catt years ago - it works! Simple on the water fix. Put a fresh skirt on when you get home.
  4. Heck yeah, man! Congrats!
  5. If you're throwing into cover, use the weedless style, with the belly weight. If you dragging or bumping bottom, use the open hook jig style.
  6. True, but light, balanced tackle is easier on the hands and writs. Ever get the "claw" from walking the dog all day?
  7. You gotta do what you gotta do for that 10% coupon code!
  8. Whenever fish are skittish due to high visibility, so calm and clear water.
  9. Thanks Tom, I'll check out the article. I'd contest that there is a direct link between the two. Seems like it could be related, and simultaneously coincidental. Hmm, pH. Have a shot at Lake Ontario. Sometimes it's over 8. Appliances that use water sourced from the lake have a half life of 18 months, lol.
  10. That's two questions, and the answers are Yes, and Yes. Do the end credits on NCIS ask you to continue watching? Stay classy bro
  11. Yes. Explain.
  12. The devil is in the details I left out. You can also read between the lines. Perhaps some company needs an automated system for repair parts....otherwise the traffic would bottleneck, lol. But yeah, I'm trying to be impartial and fair. The biased opinion is further up in the thread.
  13. You can posts a video in ANY forum. Why would you want to go to the "video" forum to search for a video on how to maintain your reel. You'd just go to Rod/Reel/Line forum. We don't have a separate forum where you post pictures. Why do we need one for videos? All you have to do is follow simple guidelines, and post a video in the forum that makes most sense - there's 24 of them!
  14. I'm curious to how this manifested. I can't see a correlation at all.
  15. Big, realistic swimbaits are bread and butter for this. That is one case where I'll start slow, and get even slower.
  16. Sure it's preference, but the fact remains, Shimano and Daiwa make their own reels. Pretty much everyone else in the bass fishing world has one of two companies make their reels. Lew's isn't a bad choice, though in terms of support after the sale. You will get a person if you call them, and they are usually pretty helpful. Same goes for Daiwa and Shimano. In fact, I'm on a first name basis with many there. Other companies have an automated support system. Quantum's is remarkably streamlined via their website, especially if you need replacement parts. I've also had good dealings with Okuma and Pinnacle.
  17. For frogs, visibility is a must. I have to be able to see the frog. Big fish almost always just slurp the thing in, and it isn't always that dramatic. So if the frog disappears, I set the hook. Therefore, I like a bright back. Buzzbaits, I think mine are all silver skirted.
  18. Saint Croix Avid AVC62MXF. It's about as long as a 6-6, but with a shorter handle. Very fast taper that recovers quickly after twitching for better control.
  19. I've worked on a few of those old Bantams. Really cool reels. Almost watch-like in precision.
  20. The Dead Sea scrolls....lol.
  21. That makes more sense! That'll work. Go a little lighter on the power of the rod. You want some shock absorbsion. There's no stopping a king's first run.
  22. Ask Glenn, it's his show, but my guess is no. Social media is way to connect with each other. YouTube seems to be all about self promotion.
