  1. If you approach it as a team event, trying to get the best combined limits, then you usually do better than boats that go with the every man for themselves attitude. I will say if there's a rule stating you get 4 hours up front and you are denied, then in talking to the tournament director after we get ashore, even though it's my standard practice to defer control to the boater.
  2. I'm not tossing jigs into cover with a 1 power rod, lol.

I guess I'm not seeing why domestic oil companies losing profits translates to a collapse of our stock prices. I feel bad for those that depend on that industry to put food on the table, but it's really just a small segment. What am I missing?
  4. Never understood why a boater cares what you bring. It's not like he's back there fishing with you. I don't care what a partner brings, as long as it fits. They get a dry storage bin behind their seat, and rods get strapped in next to them. All I care about is when I give the 5 minutes and we're moving call, they're ready.

Be glad it's not affecting the economy like it is in Russia.
  6. I like a floating worm for this.
  7. Billy Joe Shaver and Willie Nelson duet on letterman tonight. Awesome.
  8. Yankees, Cowboys, Knicks, Orange (roundball), Irish, and is hockey still a sport?
  9. We get them on Lake Ontario.
  10. I heard Buffalo…
  11. It's gonna be a long winter.
  12. There's really nothing like a lip or cupped mouth to prevent it from skipping. I can usually get around 10' of hops with a bait caster.
  13. Forgot about frogs… Auggie, anything with a flat or smith side can be skipped. Spooks and traps under docks can be deadly (and costly, lol).
  14. Traps, spooks, senkos, flukes, jigs.
  15. My other boat is a 12' kayak, lol.
  16. I think I just pulled a keyboard muscle.
  17. Can the boater count as one of the lures I throw in the water?
  18. Looking to buy one of Ike's boats, Mike? Lol.
  19. In contrast, a heavy jika rig works better than a punch rig in most heavy weeds.
  20. As long as it's just surface rust, and not the hook rotting away, it should be fine. I have a wire brush about the size of a toothbrush to clean that stuff off. Usually happens when I leave a jig and trailer tied up on a rod.
  21. I go for the most weight. If that means using a 6' ML spinning rig or and 8' XXXH punching rig then so be it. One of my biggest bags came from spinning rods, 4 and 6 lb line, and little baits.
  22. ML. Same for not fishing tournaments. Not sure why there is difference.
