  1. Bearings aren't going to fix that. You need skills. That comes with practice.
  2. Snaps: yes. Swivels: yes. Snap-Swivels: never.
  3. I have white, orange, and yellow on mine.
  4. I don't think you can generalize location based on wind alone. Take into consideration other factors, such as cover, depth, structure, and effects of wind on water clarity. Also, are there fish on the blue side on calm days?
  5. Fixed it for you - official moderator intervention, lol.
  6. Happy Birthday, Speed!
  7. It doesn't really matter. Pay more attention to your rod choice for this.
  8. I'll just take a year paid vacation, and fish wherever I feel like.
  9. I use VMC Vandium Inlines and Owner ST-36 for most of my crankbait replacements.
  10. Probably an arkey or brush head.
  11. Weedless hooks doesn't make you safe from accidents..... My buddy Jim's words:
  12. Small tip, back the reel with a spool of 30 or 40# fly line backing. Pins hold a TON of line. I used MagiBraid for mine: http://www.basspro.com/White-River-Fly-Shop-MAGIBRAID-Flyline-Backing/product/25198/#chart-container
  13. My Aventa is around 5 or 6 years old. It works as good as any $1000 Kingpin I've tried, just not as pretty.
  14. First, why would a Eurasian roach be in a Massachusetts pond? Was the pond stocked with some exotic or foreign species? If so, all bets are off ID'ing the fish. Could be anything.... Answer these questions, if you can: Soft or spiny fins? Did the lips extend beyond the eye when the mouth was closed? What percentage of the height of the head did the eye take up? Adipose fin present? Caudal fin forked, square or round? Was the mouth terminal, or under the snout? These answers can be plugged into a key to figure out what you have.
  15. The link I provided above uses the same case, punctuation, etc. as the original, hand signed document. You're not reading the official version.
  16. Where you been Catt? Football? We were wondering about you - even have a thread in the secret mod forum.
  17. Blackbird makes some VERY strong micro swivels. I occasionally reel them through the guides of my steelhead float rods. Not recommended, but hasn't been a problem. http://www.redwingtackle.com/terminal-takcle.html#swivels
  18. I had a fish spit a big swimbait back at me, resulting with two big Owner ST-41 trebles buried in my shin. Got them both out, and kept fishing the rest of the day. I might have passed once or twice getting them out.
  19. Original Floaters are solid balsa.
  20. I'd call St. Croix, and ask for a tip top guide kit. They'll know what size, and for like $5 you get the glue, tip, and instructions.
  21. Capt. Shane Procell is a member here, he could give you the skinny on them.
  22. Between two parts of a sandwich roll....
  23. You're probably used to your old rods loading easier, due to the slower action. Dobyns are very fast tapers. the 3 and 4 power are probably what you'd want to replace M and MH type rods.
