  1. One coat just absorbs in the wood, and isn't slippery at all.
  2. I pack mine with the Cal's Purple grease.
  3. I was told the flu shot is 80% effective. So, one in five may get the flu, even after getting the shot.
  4. The Zoom Super Flukes are VERY durable. I only go through a half dozen packs a season. Softer jerk baits, like Kietech Shad Impact, not so much, though the action of those nose hooked is silly good.
  5. Owner ST-31 and VMC Vanadium Inlines.
  6. Not so much temp driven, but if the temp is rising, I'll start out fast. Especially in the case of using lipless during prespawn.
  7. Here's a video for the snell knot:
  8. Yep, except you snell the hook. Forgot to add that. Better action, and better hookups.
  9. 1/0 Gamakatsu Wide Gap Finesse, nose hooked.
  10. Willie Mays, both in the picture and the signature.
  11. For me, the heavier the cover, the slower the action. And honestly, a good jig rod is more about the secondary bend than the tip. You want a smooth, progressive mid section that maintains pressure, yet has enough power to hoist them up and out of cover. This is why many prefer a moderate action on a XH jig rod.
  12. Actually, it's it's the best I've found in cool, damp weather. It's not like the cork found on production rod handles. Closer to the burl cork found on customs. maybe Scot will see this, and comment.
  13. I honestly don't remember. Scott is a member here, you could try to PM him, he's on daily.
  14. Good luck, bro!
  15. I've been getting a flu shot for 8 years. Haven't had the flu in at least that many years. I guess it offers about 80% resistance to all the strains out there. For the past two years, I also get a pneumonia shot. Never had it, but since I'm a Type 1 diabetic, it can't hurt.
  16. I had one too. Had 140K miles on it, and I put another 140K on it. Bought it for $500, and sold it for $500, lol. Only things I replaced were the water pump and exhaust. Loved that stupid Jeep.
  17. I'm running 6# InvisX on a Megabass Alphas Ito Ai for drop shotting bedding Oneida smallies in this pic:
  18. If you Texas Rig the bait, remember to use a snap hookset.
  19. I don't like the knobs either, so I have Scott Hovanec make two sweet cork knobs:
  20. What's missing? Extra mass.
  21. #1 mistake I see is bad knots.
  22. I have three CI4 reels. They are plenty smooth, lightweight, and strong enough to handle fish much larger than bass.
  23. I'd say two season's worth is pretty accurate. This is a rod that sits out in the elements on my deck, or in my hand practically all season. I sealed it new, about two years ago.
