  1. Change it every year? I have braid that is at least 4 years old and still very usable.
  2. I saw them back when I was a teenager at a hotel. Got to sit in, and play drums. I think they only had one original member, though. This was at least 25 years ago.
  3. They are like nails on a chalk board to me dry. Try Oust Metol from Smooth Drags.
  4. Seat time, seat time, seat time. You gotta try them to find what works for you.
  5. Whether the plastic sits up in a defensive posture has more to do with the bait. The rig simply allows this movement. Doesn't matter if it's vertical or horizontal - the action comes on the pause.
  6. Tendonitis. Slowed me down quite a bit for a few months.
  7. It's just $40 for the proper transducer bracket.
  8. I didn't say YOU had some problem. It's been my general impression that social train wrecks don't act pretty on FB. Here's the thing, what if your ex worked at the local convenience store or gas station? Would shop elsewhere? Or look at it another way, would it matter more to your fiancee to not be friends than it would to your ex to be unfriended? I think you have determine the capacity both you and your fiancee have trusting one another. I am friends with most ex girlfriends. My ex wife, no way. We'll simply will never be friends, in any capacity.
  9. I'm thinking if you're having problems on Facebook, you probably have problems in other areas of your life as well. I think it's pretty lame to blame a social networking site on your problems - they are your "friends" after all.
  10. I don't think bass are directly attracted to light. Lights attract bugs, which attracts bait, which attracts predators, bass one of them.
  11. If you're talkin old school nylon mono, then Suffix Elite and Siege are both good options. I don't use either for bass fishing anymore, but I have caught many a mid teens salmonoid on some pretty light line. For bass fishing, I prefer something tougher, like P-Line CXX. Pretreating the line with KVD Line & Lure is a must.
  12. Depends. I don't "friend" family on Facebook. If you are family, then you can text/call/visit. Ex's, people from high school, coworkers, people from here, etc. all get tagged as "Aquaintences." They don't get to see anything. In fact, I keep my "Close Friends" list down around 1% of my total friends, or around 20 people. They see the important stuff. The rest is just for promoting fishing related stuff, and keeping in touch.
  13. They look good on Dobyns =)
  14. I have five treble hooked bait rods. I think most could get away with a medium and a medium heavy cranking rod.
  15. 4/0 Owner Rigg'n Hook on 20# braid with a 12# CXX leader. The combo I use is in this review: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-DHC5-performa-review.html This gear allows me to "pop" a good hookset with snapping lighter lines, but still be able to break off quickly and retie should I get snagged on a dock piling.
  16. SOP is to bring a small plastic grocery bag, and grab what you can at each shore trip. Every little bit helps, and maybe others that see you will be inspired to do the same.
  17. I can probably do something this coming weekend. Weather depending.
  18. Just saw it on FB. Hilarious.
  19. Doesn't matter, but if you want to feel what it's like on the rod, then string it up, and use an obtuse angle. I think you'll be surprised at just how much a little poundage feels. 5 lbs. is enough to snap most tips when high sticking.
  20. Name the time, and I'm there.
  21. One thing I do is back off the drag if the reel is going in storage for a while. Another thing I like to do is "massage" the drag before I start with a rod that's been sitting by turning the spool on a spinner or holding the spool with my thumb and cranking the handle a couple turns. Keeps the drag smooth that way.
  22. LOL, that was great. KVD L&L is pretty much a MUST HAVE for me.
  23. I set it to 1/3 of the line breaking strength, or rod's max line rating, whichever is lower. Then I forget it. You're line or rod will never break, and you'll generally have plenty of power. I use a spring scale on a hook attached to my bench, and tie to the scale hook. From there, it's just a straight pull until I get where I want it. After a while, you can go my feel, but I like spot check things once in a while.
