  1. Use Cortland Toothy Critter in 10#. It's inexpensive tieable fly leader, but works great. Bass don't care about it, and you'll save on hooks.
  2. Yeah, I think the Seafoam got the last of the fogger out. That stuff is great. Been using it this year, and the motor seems to run better.
  3. LMAO, tell me about it!
  4. I saw this on FB, very nicely done!
  5. That's the one, Noel. It's REALLY fast.
  6. We would have suffered for a lot less time, lol.
  7. Bullet 21XDC with a Mercury Pro Max Sport 2.5 "225" Trophy 27 (I think), Torquemaster LU, 13" Jackplate. Needs a few things, but hull and motor are strong. I'll probably swap out to new grey carpet. Had up around 80 on the test drive. It's actually WAYYYYY easier to drive than my buddy's eerily similar 20XD Competition Hull:
  8. These "Jig Rigs" jika rigs from Owner have worked really well with Rage Craws for me....
  9. It was initially developed to make fluoro behave more like traditional nylon mono.
  10. I usually sand, refill, and reseal my grips every year, but here's one that hasn't been touched up since I sealed it new, two years ago. It sits out on my deck most days, so it gets a lot of exposure to the elements.
  11. Mr. Rojas won an event on Oneida using a frog around docks and water willow.....
  12. The Stainless Steel bearings are a VERY good replacement for shot OEM bearings. Much more affordable, too. If you want some extra performance, and have the ability to use the speed, the ABEC 7 Ceramic Hybrids are excellent. I have them in two TD-Sols and a a JDM Alphas. I do think I get longer casts with crankbaits, and the Alphas is set up on a ML/XF light jig and worm rod. Start up and pitching light jigs and plastics is very good, so long as you use a light oil, like Met-ol or Yellow Rocket Fuel. Just remember, light oil means more maintenance. Everything comes with a price.
  13. LOL, you get a tetanus booster every ten years. I've had four in my life. No side effects. I think you are just scared of needles.
  14. You have to be kidding me....there isn't any blood test for tetanus infection, the only way to diagnose it is AFTER you already have lockjaw. Seems like a no brainer to avoid this with a simple vaccine. Yes it's rare, that's because most of us have the common sense to get immunized. I wonder how many of the 31 fatal cases this decade were not immunized. Oh yeah, all of them. No brainer indeed!
  15. The post was edited. Thanks for your concern, though. As an unpaid volunteer moderator of this site, I REALLY appreciate it when someone takes the time to post an "atta-boy."

  17. Use round weights for rocks, and don't fish wood with an exposed hook.
  18. I prefer the bearings that Dawn carries at Smooth Drags. Less expensive, they have metal shields, and as fast as OS, if not faster.
  19. It's only of relative concern to me. Some things, I like a slower retrieve. Others, I like faster.
  20. Why would you buy a rod that is made in the USA from Vietnam? All sorts of alarm bells should be going off...
  21. Thank you Glenn for posting this. I'm heartbroken over the loss of both a great friend and a great man to anyone that wanted to know about fishing. I was with Bill on Wednesday, and I am proud to tell you he was full of life. His enthusiasm for fishing and friendship is unmatched. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. If anyone from Long Island needs info about calling hours, PM me and I'll give you the details. Rest in peace my friend.
  22. I haven't been up there in a couple years, but my experience has been simply to drive around, and locate good, healthy weedlines. I know that sounds hinky, but that lake is "fish soup." It's really that easy to get bit.
