  1. It is LMBV, not a new and different virus.
  2. Eric Dickerson. Had he had his head on correctly for his career, it would have been longer and he would have been up there near first or first for total yardage. At the ten year mark, he was already at number two on the list. 6'4' with deceptively blazing speed and power.
  3. Captain probably had to keep correcting course. LOL
  4. Here it is. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-23887809
  5. So far (and the biologist can correct me if I am wrong) the LMB Virus only affect the bass, not other fish. When I first heard the report on the radio and then got to work and read the article, the title and first part are very misleading. It seems the media doesn't seem interested in really paying attention to the biologists, only sensationalizing snakehead stories. There was a recent story by the BBC regarding the shifting attitudes regarding snakehead. The two entities that they chose to provide the information was the head of potomacsnakehead.com (or something to that effect) and Pro Fish. potomacsnakehead are bowfishermen who are bowfishing them at night and Pro Fish, the company that buys the meat. I'll try to find the article and post it. The crux is, people need to read the real facts about the snakehead before making judgements on the fish.
  6. but they have confirmed a virus that kills LM Bass and is spread by snakeheads. That's not good news Did you read the entire article? The virus that kills largemouth bass is...LARGEMOUTH BASS VIRUS. Snakeheads don't give it, they get it. They then have the potential to transfer it to other bodies water that they may migrate to.
  7. The pin the winds the line onto the spool on a spincast reel will NOT handle the braided line.
  8. I found this thread and loved the information. I read an article YEARS ago in a magazine about a jig fishing expert that taught many a pro how to fish a jig by using the reel and not the rod. I could never find it again. Reading Tom's article, I realized that I have found it. I also think I figured out who the "fisherman in California" referenced in Bo's video is.
  9. Go to academy.com and pick up two Mettle H2O reels. Best $100 for two reels you'll ever spend.
  10. I am completely aware of that. I am just expressing my displeasure of the prep.
  11. I'd gladly take the tube to the rear while under anesthesia once a year, then to ever have to drink that crap again.
  12. Danny Gatton Robin Trower Stevie Ray Vaughn I've never agreed that Hendrix is #1. Great player, writer, innovator. Even Hendrix didn't consider himself the best or even close. If you want to know how good a writer and innovator he was, just listen to Stevie Ray play his music.
  13. I get to talk with a lot of striper fishermen here on the Chesapeake Bay at the many flea markets and fishing expos here in MD. There are many techniques for catching striper. One popular technique is light tackle jigging. You'd be surprised at the tackle and lures. 6'6" - 7' M or MH Fast action. 20-30# braid, sometimes even lighter line. Spinning tackle for a lot of it. Remember it is open water and drag is key. There is a website dedicated to the Chesapeake Bay fishing.
  14. I had a Staffordshire Terrier.. Fantastic breed.
  15. If you have the issue more with live bait, start using circle hooks.
  16. I would think that full value replacement would be NEW cost, when you purchase new. When you buy used or get insurance after you've had the boat, I doubt they'd offer a full NEW value replacement option.
  17. We had a heck of a time with my oldest son staying in his bed at night. He slept with us often. He is now a very well adjusted 6'2" 250# 20 year old man. It's not that big of a deal and he will grow out of it. Always too, keep in mind that although kids are resilient, divorces are tough on kids. Adults involved tend to over look that. I have read many times about how well you're doing with them. Keep up the good work. It's the most important work you'll ever do.

I have become a user. I ordered (among other things) two Okuma Rods. One showed up FEDEX in a beaten up box. No damage to rod. The second showed up IN A PLASTIC SLEEVE! The FEDEX driver couldn't believe it. She had taped it to the other box to "try to protect it" Long story short, a bunch of guides were bent a little and the tip was gone. Replacement would take approximately four weeks. I called. They refunded my money AND told me to keep the rod for my trouble. Two inches broken off a seven foot rod. $2 tip replacement and she'll work just fine and only cost me $2 for the rod.
  22. A friend has a phrase, "Facebook is the devil"
  23. I just purchased a on board two bank charger. I have my two 12V deep cycle batteries hooked up for 24V operation. First, does the jumper making the two 12V's a 24V have to be disconnected before charging? Second, can the charger stay hooked to the batteries while using the batteries?
  24. There's a good joke about that, probably to be found on BR somewhere. A husband and wife are on the boat, the husband fishing and the wife reading. Game warden comes to the boat and is going to write a ticket to the woman for fishing without a license. She says that she is not fishing. He tells her that she has all the equipment to fish, therefore she is getting a ticket. She tells him that when she gets to shore, she is going to file a complaint of sexual assault against him. He exclaims that he is no way sexually harassed much less assaulted her. She says that he has all the necessary equipment therefore, she is reporting him. He tells her to have a nice day and moves on.
  25. New Horizon Bass Anglers out of northern VA.. There is another great group of fisherman at a private website. The owner is a member of BR. Maybe he'll see your request and contact you.
