Rodman reservoir
Not unrealistic but you can spend a lotta hours chasing that DD before you connect. Rodman has had outstanding results over 10lbs this lasr year. Just take a look at the http://www.myfwc.com/TrophyCatch

Exsence DC
Your going to love it. It will show up at your door much quicker than you think. My experience with EMS shipping has been less than a week delivery time.

Upgrade or Sell and Buy Another
I would suggest you upgrade & stay out of debt. Also as others have suggested get your motor running correctly so you can enjoy it. The sell it & upgrade cycle is always available in the future.

Mercury Racing 300 or Verado Pro 300?
Two good choices. The racing 300 is a 250 bored & stroked with lots of issues with improper warm up & cool down. Just ask Robert Perez of Hawgtech I was in the boat when that one blew a hole thru a cylinder. the Verado reguires two batteries because of the steering pump requirement and high output house battery for starting.

Jerkbaits
Scroll up to the top of this page and read the 5 pages on jerkbaits. This should point you in the right direction.

New guy from Oregon
Welcome to the bass source. You could always try the Columbia for smallies.

Duo Realis jerkbaits
I can't help you with the pointer 95 because I have no experience with that one.

Duo Realis jerkbaits
Deep the 120sp is 4.75" & 5/8oz. It has a weight transfer system & a 4 chamber sound system. The action of a 120sp is more of a slash bait with real strong rolling action. I work them hard & erratically. The 100sp is 4" & 7/16oz. It has a 4 rattle chamber sound system but no weight transfer. The action is more subtle with less pronounced action than the 120sp. It's more of a walking style bait. The 110sp is 4" & 1/2oz. It has a 3 rattle sound system with a balanced weight system. It's an inbetween action between the 120 & 100 but doesn't run a deep as the other two. I have a couple of the 110's but mostly use the 120sp & less often use the 100. The 100 might be better used as a finesse jerkbait while the 120 is a more aggressive in your face type of action. There are times when both baits catch fish with just a steady retrieve. Just saying.

Jerkbait Size
One rule of thumb is try a big bait if the small bait isn't getting hit & vice versa. I almost always start with a bigger bait & only downsize if that doesn't get bit.

New Personal Best Pike On Thanksgiving
Congrats on the new PB.

Jerkbaits w/Feathered Treble Hooks
I have used some but I am not sold on their effectiveness. The extra action on the pause with the feathered hooks probably counters the subdued action on the moving side. I have added a few to the rear of baits that came with plain hooks & never felt the addition was worthwhile.

Jointed Minnows?
The original J-11 rapalas are great smallmouth baits. The J-13 makes a very productive pike bait when trolled along weed edges. They are not what I would use for jerkbait presentations as they already have a unique action slowly retrieved or as as a stop & go retrieve. The same holds true for the BX extreme.

Anybody heard/has experience with this tackle store...
No problems. They carry close outs & many dd colors & baits. I have used them several times. Good source for many different domestic baits.

Custom Rods Vs Store Bought???
$120 for a custom rod leaves very little margin for profit & quality components. Minimal custom rod prices start at $200 & go up. Most custom rods sold are priced between $300-600 for spinning & casting rods.

Costa Glasses
Both the green mirror & silver mirror lenses are copper based. The silver is the most versatile with 12% light transmission. The green has 10% light transmission with better glare reduction because of less light transmission. I just ordered a new pair of prescription lenses & frames & I went with the straight copper lense as the best for driving & sight fishing with maximum polarization. I spoke with the optometrist & with a representative at Costa headquarters. The 2% difference between the green & the silver is not noticeable by all people I was told.

Tell Me More About What Line Is Best For Topwater?
- A Question To Shimano Fans
Longevity.- Jerkbait Tip
Shore or cover on the port side use your left arm to work the bait. Shore or cover on the starboard side use your right arm to work the bait. If the boater is covering water with frequent use of the trolling motor cast your bait to the edge of cover & leave it in the water, working it as you go. You don't have to be holding the reel because you're not reeling. Don't waste time casting & retrieving. Your success will surprise you.- Pray For Our Buddy Dwight Hottle
Just an update both CT & PET scans came back negative for metastasized cells. My tumor is localized to the lower esphagus. Stage 2. Getting a port put in next Tuesday then 2 months of chemo before surgery then a probable two more months of chemo after surgery. The surgeon is doing a transhiatal esophagectomy procedure. I'll end up with my stomach replacing my esophagus. Thanks for everyone's prayers & positive comments. Your support is much appreciated.- Cool Pics Of Lake Erie
That what makes lake Erie soooooooo nasty. It's the most shallow of the great lakes. - A Question To Shimano Fans
