  1. Ontario Lake or Lake Ontario?
  2. Watch this video if you need help with hook sets. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/159765-one-of-captain-shanes-best-vids/
  3. I have towed with 3 different Toyota 4-runners. Two 8 cylinders & the current one is a 6 cylinder. I pull a heavy 20' boat on a twin axle trailer.
  4. If you are ordering a single reel & have it shipped EMS you are probably flying under the radar. I have never been hit with a customs fee on JDM reels with about a dozen purchases.
  5. There is only three ways to fish that stuff. Over the top with shallow topwater. Fish thru it with a punch rig or heavy weight presentation. Fish the outside or inside edge staying out of it.
  6. Congrats on the PB. You two make a good team.
  7. I watched it this morning. Captain Shane might need a blood pressure monitor.
  8. Enjoy it when you get finished. You earned it.
  9. kcus serutcip nwod edispU.
  10. Every time you enlarge your arsenal you become a more rounded fisherman. Congrats on getting better.
  11. Stitch I sent you an email. Did you receive it?
  12. Well since you put them in there they have to be there unless someone is poaching your pond. The large crappie are competitors of the bass so you might want to take them out. They are good to eat. If you really can't catch any fish over 3lbs try fishing a live gill as bait & see what happens. You could also have the pond shocked.
  13. Nice fish bankguy. Here is a recent picture of an actual 8lb-8oz bass for comparison. I weighed it but did not measure it.
  14. Yes there lots of choices according to japan tackle. Should be size A knob. Call shimano parts & ask if the stock 2500 knob will fit.
  15. Hope you have a great trip.
  16. Another way to put it is that a cranking rod will usually be moderate action while most casting rods are fast action.
  17. I wonder how that would look with a gloss blue/green flip blank?
  18. X2. Used one cranking for 6 days straight & really found it to be flawless pulling big cranks including SK 10XD's
  19. Yes the problem has been fixed as already mentioned. To answer your other question it's only worth it if you can detect the difference in sensitivity. Some people can & some people can not tell the difference.
  20. There is always a story behind the picture & original story. Based on DTack's info the fish didn't make it. If the anglers were not carrying a certified scale there was additional stress getting it to a certified scale. Lake records, state records, line class records & world records most often mean a dead fish. It's just fishing. The guy who contributed to the dead fish has probably practiced catch & release all his life. One or two dead fish is part of the game. Congrats on the new record.
  21. Fish the same general area you do in spring just deeper. If you have enough wind to drift try that to help cover water. You could also use an electric trolling motor to keep you moving. The trick is go slow enough that you keep in contact with the bottom but still cover some ground until you get bit. After your first fish you could throw out a marker buoy & then work that area over more thourghly.
  22. I use the owner ST-41BC 2X for my heavier baits. No problems with them.
