  1. I have at least six plano boxes of various lucky craft jerk baits. I can honestly say I have Never felt the need to modify any of them other than to replace a worn out factory hook. I will bet you I catch as many fish on those not modified lc jerkbaits as your assumed most people who do modify them. Think what you want, do what you do. It is your money.
  2. A little blue birdie told me, a jay. I'll bet there will be some monster greenies before we get any big brownies.
  3. Look up member Wayne P. His avatar might answer your question.
  4. Looks good Jeff. I'm glad to see your are gaining experience for when a really big bite comes along.
  5. Just another fad. I liked the lesser water resistance when retrieving.
  6. Good point. For larger musky or pike you can still use a boga instead of grabbing them by the gill plate as long as you support them with your other hand under the belly. Just support the bigger ones horizontally.
  7. You were not supposed to read this. I thought you were done posting on this thread.
  8. Jeff it looks like you and the missus are in trout heaven.
  9. I'm sure he is talking silver buddy type.
  10. Ship them ahead of time. I had an airline break six st croix & loomis rods in a pvc travel tube two years ago on an international flight. They bent the tube 90 degrees 18" from the one end. Must have jambed on a conveyor belt. They did reimburse the full retail value of the rods & case after some hassle on my part. This was an international flight where the rate of reimbursement was mush greater than a domestic flight. The problem with air travel is that the TSA people rontinuely pull the rods out of the tube to inspect the contents. We have had numerous broken & bent guides from their carelessness. By pre shipping UPS or FedEx you avoid that experience .
  11. On erie I use a net then a boga to unhook multiple treble jerk baits. I have never seen any damage attributable to the use of a boga grip in salt water or fresh water. When fishing for toothy critters the boga can be very helpful for most fisher people.
  12. I didn't get your question till I looked at the 3rd pic. A tree afro.
  13. Ya got to love it when you can sleep in and still spank em. WTG.
  14. I read in today's paper his best year was 1948 the year I was born. He will always be remembered by baseball fans as one of the true greats in his sport.
  15. Ah the conspiracy theory.
  16. Forget the lead core idea. Lead core is for trolling. Much to bulky for a leader. Either go with heavier floro for a leader like 60-80lb test or get some very light titanium leaders or flexible seven strand leader material which you can tie knots.
  17. Rumor has it that last photo of three fish weighed 39lbs. Very nostalgic indeed.
  18. My handicap is getting Robert free to go fish.
  19. Very nice to see you back. We missed ya.
  20. Got a call from South FLA, aka Robert about 4 pm. Robert asks me what are you doing? Knowing most of his calls are fishing related I replied "getting ready to fish" So he says can you meet me in 15 minutes over at the gym as he is just finishing up. I said yes I'll be there. He has invited me to go fish his honey hole at a local golf course. I have been chomping at the bit to get over there for the first time. Yesterday was the first day after a cold front passed through and i wondered how that would affect the bite. I had a popping frog tied on & Robert was fishing a spinner bait. He gave me the first couple of casts to a known good area but my frog didn't get touched. Then he casts the same area with the spinner bait and immediately gets hit. Then the fish started to cooperate. I think we had between 30 to 40 fish in an hour and a half as it got dark. Lots of doubles and all quality fish. A short but very satisfying trip. Thanks Robert.
  21. It is a nice fish. Congrats.
  22. Mike sent you a PM.
  23. A man's got to do what a man's got to do. Nice fish.
  24. Hey slonezp, sounds like Jeff owes us a beer or two!
