Yes. Or you can fish them same way you would fish any other jig. Leeches borrow in mud bottoms over winter & emerge in the spring soon after ice out. Be careful fishing them as walleye & pike love them as well.

Besides some of the other baits mentioned I like the Gambler 6" flapp'n shad. A Florida bait company.

The typical day on lake erie fishing for smallies can be very similar to Canada regarding the numbers but bigger average size. I have had days with 50-100 bass in the boat with two people fishing but the size runs from 1-4 lbs with a shot at a 5lber. This is very prevalent with live bait. But i hear about wanting numbers with a shot at a personal best.

Not spending more time with bottom contact baits when other presentations are not working.

I'm having problems downloading pictures into my albums. When I hit the upload button it allows me to select a picture file in step one. Once the picture is found using the browse button it will not advance to step two. Anybody have a solution? I have not used more than half of the allowable space.

Yes I have seen it happen. The strong wind seems to gather the bait & the largemouth get active cruising the wind blown shoreline looking for an easy meal. Try using a wake bait like a lucky craft RC1.5 if you can find them. They stay in the zone.

So that's why I never catch any largemouth. I'm always in the smallie mode.
