Josh Walleye will hit almost any bait that you can find to throw. Many walleye relate to weed beds just like bass, pike & muskies. We catch walleye in lake erie while fishing for bass in shallow water, Overcast days, low light conditions & wind/waves will bring walleye shallow during the day.

A-Jay A little brain hurt is a good thing. Yesterday I hit the lake in the morning & the fog was so thick I was afraid to get on plane to get where I wanted to be. The dang fog finally lifted at 4 pm. Mother nature has really been playing hardball this year.

I feel your pain. It sucks over here in PA as well. Not only cold, windy & wet but the water clarity from all the blows takes days to clear. I just get in a little grove & mother nature pulls the rug out again & again & again.

I'm fishing out of the central/eastern basin at Erie PA. The bass islands are located in the western basin. Shortest run out there from the south shore would be by ferry trailering your boat.

I got out today before the t-storms. Caught this beautiful smallie as the thunder started & I had to head back in. I think this fish is the prettiest I have seen this year.
