  1. Sounds like a good outing. That smallie looks real sweet.
  2. New canadian tournament record was set Oct 23 2010 at Lake Simcoe. Big fish for the tournament was 8.05lb smallie but not part of the winning weight. Winning weight was 5 smallies weighing 31.55 lbs thats a 6.31lb average. Here is the link. Link to the weigh-in video: http://www.aurorabass.com/blog/main.html Winners weigh in @ 1h 8min.
  3. Your not old just a little more flush! Welcome to the club.
  4. I just got some jigs from him last week. We were talking by email about some new colors for smallies. Give him a call or email about any concerns.
  5. Good to see you posting again Paul. If you need a babysitter give me a call. I'll work for free!
  6. sodaksker wrote I was using lc pointer 100 deep diver & lc staysee. I didn't measure but did weigh them on a boga. The smaller one was 5 plus & the bigger one was just under 6.
  7. That is a beautiful bass & pond.
  8. Very nice video. I even liked the music.
  9. After 4-5 days of high winds the wind finally switched to SSW & I was chomping at the bit to get out. Surface temps were 55-56 degrees. Caught all fish on jerk baits over 18-25 feet of water. Beautiful day.
  10. Congratulations to you both.
  11. Great trip. It just goes to show fall can be as good or better than spring!
  12. Look up the post hair jigs in the smallmouth bass fishing forums about 3/4 down the page.
  13. Glad you got out. Thanks for your service. If you ever get over this way give me a shout & l will take you out for some smallies.
  14. Nice smallie! Got to love that background.
  15. RW, Tried the hair jigs myself yesterday up high. No bites yet. Probably too warm water temps. It can only get better if you wait it out.
  16. I have a toyota 4-runner with a 4.7 L V8. It gets 19-21 mpg highway and 15-17 mpg towing a 20 foot boat on a tandem axle trailer. Plenty of power. I really like it its my second 4-runner purchased for towing. Whatever you buy make sure it has a towing package included.
  17. I'm old school & have always used full cork grips. I prefer the cork handles on st croix rods especially because they feel very comfortable in my hand. I just picked up a new split grip caster and I have to admit I'm starting to like it. The exposed blank does transmit vibration between the cork sections. Maybe I'm not so old school just old! ;D
  18. Went out yesterday about 7-8 miles down the shore looking for some hungry smallies. Caught around 8 fish mostly smaller ones. Surface water temp was 58 degrees fishing in 17 to 25 fow. Started getting into better quality fish. Caught this one on a lc staysee jerk bait. Was watching the horizon & this big dark front kept getting closer. Decided to head for the barn before it was too late. Got back to the dock & took this picture.
  19. Had a buddy over for two days of fishing. He got a nice steelie and a brownie.
  20. PB's are always fun. WTG Stephen.
  21. Catching fish from 1 foot to 25 feet in the same day proves your were dialed that day! Great fish.
  22. Great post & pics. Sounds like you guys had a great time fishing & catching.
  23. fc and titanium.
  24. Better action on cranks & jerkbaits with a duolock snap. Line can get caught in a split ring & cause problems. Some lure manufactures even supply snaps on their baits like Luhr Jensen for better action.
