A medium or MH with moderate action will work great for cranks & topwaters. Just remember you need a little give in the equation for treble hook baits. If your using braid definitely go with moderate action. If your using mono or floro with stretch built in then you can consider using moderate fast or fast action.

Add a pointer 100dd, pointer 128 & a staysee.

I sometimes remove split rings & just use a simple cross lok snap. Never have issues with line caught in the split of the ring & the action is better.

Here's my pb erie fish at 7lb-6oz. Another fish just under at 6lb-14oz. Both were 22 inches long.
