  1. That's a beauty Wayne. Swim baits rule.
  2. Had a walleye fishing buddy over for three days of smallie action on lake erie. This was Terry's first time on erie. He has been chasing smallies for a while mostly on an annual trip to rainy lake in canada. He was impressed with the overall size, especially the weight to length ratio. We caught 14 over four lbs & six over five lbs. The biggest was Terry's new personal best a beautiful 5lb-14oz. I told him it was only one gobie away from 6lbs. He can't wait to get back. Here is his biggest.
  3. WTG JacobK. That is a real nice bass for magadore. I fished there a little when I was a teenager & broke 5lbs as well. You definitely caught a trophy!
  4. Beautiful bass Roger. Your timely midday start reminds me of a quote from big Al. "the fish never start biting until I get there" Me thinks Lois takes a pretty good picture as well.
  5. Catt, that smile tells it all.
  6. It was pretty stupid But, it was way too cool! Great little clip.
  7. Bass_Akwards that bass has world record proportions written all over it. My favorite is my pb.
  8. I switched from power pro to Sufix performance braid & have never looked back. I use the low vis green with a maxima ultragreen leader for visibility/abrasion situations. The suggestion to move up in line diameter is worth considering for a bait caster.
  9. I empathize with you. I have had that similar experience with smallies before as well as other species. It really lets your mine wander about the record status you have hooked only to burst your ballon when you find out the truth.
  10. Looks like you had an awesome day with the topwaters. Congrats.
  11. Nice post, Paul. Chances are there are still a couple of big girls swimming.
  12. Old guys rule! ;D ;D
  13. Awesome day! Your 5-2 almost looks bigger than the 7-10 except for the differences in length.
  14. I guess you got mine figured out. ;D
  15. Nice post & pics, John. And mainebassman has it right a four pounder is a nice fish.
  16. In lake erie we catch smallie with black splotches usually in the spring. I read somewhere that it has to do with wintering in close proximity to each other. That would suggest a fungus or viral condition. Here is an example from yesterday.
  17. Shimmy said Great fish. Between your avatar and all of your pictures, i am starting to believe that you are catching the same fish over and over again in the exact same spot, at the exact same time of day, wearing the exact same clothing. That takes skills But shimmy didn't you see the fish with the black spots. That makes at least two different fish. ;)
  18. And my net man laying down on the job.
