Lowe Or Tracker?
Would you go to the 50hp if you could have when you got the boat? Or the 75? Or does the 25 suit the machine. I dont wanna pappy anymore. This little 5hp has me itching for power.

Lowe Or Tracker?
Ok I have it narrowed to the tracker bass tracker 170 or the lowe Mod v 170 bass boat. Which would you choose. Seems like you get more boat for the money with the lowe. Its longer wider, deeper, bigger trolling motor... seems like the better boat for the money. Whats your thoughts?

Mercury Two Strokes
Electric start/Long shaft/ Power Trim/Oil injected a two stroke carb engine. I wouldn't buy a new one. EPA rulings are making them hard to use on many waters. EFIs aren't much better. Why wouldnt the EFI be better for emissions its a whole different ball of wax. The boats im interested in dont come with Honda's or id put one of them on it. I gotta finance it all in one shot.

Mercury Two Strokes
Let me start by saying I am in my search for a new boat. I finally landed a job with enough income to justify something brand new and although my house is old, my truck is an 02 darn it, I WILL have a NEW boat before the end of this year. I see the tracker lineup is really pushing the two stroke motors out the door. Checking the Mercury site they dont even mention the two stroke anymore. Are they done manufacturing these? Is this why they want you to buy that motor as a "powerup savings"? Whats everyones input on the two stroke? I assume from my motorcycle days they are snappier, easier to rebuild but need to be opened wide often to prevent fouling of the plugs. How is the fuel economy vs the EFI, I assume slightly lower, is the trade off in fuel consumption worth it to save $2000? Any input appreciated.

Best way to rig a worm for a tree?
I was fishing some submerged trees yesterday and lost quite a few lures. I didnt dare throw my cranks in it but I lost some nice soft stuff. I rigged it texas and lost a few, rigged it weightless and lost a few, all weedless. I didnt even try a carolina rig cause that seemed like a recipe for disaster. Any tips, hints, I hate losing gear.

Looking to do this...
Go find yourself a local company who will give you even a discount and throw their name on your shirt if its that big of a deal. I know a company that when I finally start fishing tournaments that will definately tell me yes. I have helped them on more then one occasion. In fact, on saturday me and my fiance laid $100 worth of cranks/jigs and other stuff on the counter and payed $60 for it. I wont even consider going until i have confidence that I can produce fish in all conditions, multiple locations. Oh... i also need a REAL bass boat.

Polorized glasses: A Blessing and a Curse.
Ha, you should fly fish, you see the fish come up, look at the fly, get ready to eat it then turn away.

GASOLINE
my 5hp has a 3 gallon tank, ive had it out 6 times since i filled it up last and its still full. People about sunk my little boat at the lake yesterday but I just smiled when i knew it cost me about 30 cents to run it all day and that 25ft boat cost them about $300

I think it's time for me to get a dog.
The vizla is a beautiful dog and quite rare to come by. They too with most of the breeding geared towards the field are very high energy. If you want one on the calmer side find one thats been bred for show.

I think it's time for me to get a dog.
I have a shorthair and a lab. The lab is a pup but he listens better then the shorthair. That shorthair sure does put pheasants on the table which is why she is still here. She drives me INSANE!

Best 12 volt Trolling Motor
I gotta disagree with buying as much thrust as you can afford. I have a 30lb on my john and 1 is sometimes too much. Match the boat.

A question about your club rules
I dont know about you but I dont want my motors anywhere near bank fisherman. Not only that but they have such limited room to fish I would never get on top of them. Id say 100ft from any boat, thats only 33 yards, i can cast that easy.

Rating Lures
Reviews are way to general. "I love this bait, it catches fish" - they based that on one day forgot to mention they were throwing it post spawn in twenty feet of water in firetiger color. The thing is, if it got too precise guys would throw your favorite lures. I think its up to the individual to figure out what works for them otherwise they set themselves up for disappointment.

Soft jerk-baits?
I tie mine on with a rapala knot. Everyone said weightless... ill go a little further... texas rigged weightless. Oh and btw, the slit is the belly of the bait, not the top.

casting vs spinning q's
Why limit yourself to either, they both have a time and place. I have both in my boat at all times and sometimes even a fly rod too!
