  1. I liked the Sharp edges sign, by the way, bridge out ahead.
  2. Baby brush hog- weightless & weedless.
  3. Hey, you must of watched the same show I did this morning.
  4. My name is Jimmy, I'm a tackle junkie, I need money for more baits, Please help. ;D
  5. I always tell the hands on the rigs that I'm older than dirt, Thanks, You just made it official.
  6. Not speaking of Tom, but just because you have a published fishing report does not a guide make.
  7. Hey Mike Thanks. Good to see I have an allie. I sometimes don't think my opinions are very welcome on here. At least not of the majority anyway. We did get some work for our rig that was down today. You well know how short term that is for us, 20-30 days, then have to find another well to go to. But enough said before I turn this into a oilfield forum.
  8. Where the term "acid rock" came from. I swear after seeing the Wall in the 80's after stepping out of movie theater the full moon was one huge disco ball David Gilmour has some good solo stuff also.
  9. My wife know nothing about fishing, but when she was helping me clean the boat out the other day she saw that Sammy and said "Wow this thing has caught some fish." It has teeth marks all over it.
  10. Well He got me today. I recieved a debit card on christmas for $75. So i went to tackle warehouse and spent it all on a deps highsider jr., mattlures ult. crappie, and 2 bagley baitfish series lipless cranks. When I placed my order it denied my transaction. The guys at T.W. called me informing me of this so I just gave them my credit card # and went ahead and made purchase. I was still wondering why the debit card transaction was denied. So I went to bass tackle depot and made another order, a deps buzzjet, sebile magic swimmer, trutungsten shad swimbait, 2 jigs(trutungsten and oldhams), and a zoom chart. dye marker. My transaction was denied again, after several phone calls with them I realized I never registered debit card to set up account. :-[ So I spent 75$ I wasn't planning on. So looks like He won today. But now I'll be getting alot of cool stuff in about a week. And I have a little suprise for Him, I am not, I repeat I am not buying anymore baits this year. Unless it's to Brent(***) to replace some soft plastics. See there He goes again! Can We ever win? ;D :-?
  11. Personally, I would prefer to see both oil and gas prices a little higher, not to the extremes that they where but stabilized to a 60$ to 80$ bbl range. So maybe we can keep drilling for oil on American soil and keep our drilling rigs in the air. When the prices get as low as they are the oil companies trim their drilling budgets way back which relates to less work for the drilling contractors which results in high numbers of layoffs. We have seen a dramitic decrease in co.s wanting rigs to drill wells. And all oil companies don't have outrageous profits, there are a lot of independents that struggle even with high oil prices. The costs to drill a well runs into a million dollars and up, and that's without any problems which can occur at any moment and run into the milllions themselves. Then there are the completion and production costs. I don't think the general public really realizes what all is involved to get the gas to the pumps and the oil into cans and manufactured goods. I just hope for an extremely cold winter in northeastern states to keep natural gas demands high. So while ya'll hope for low prices I pray for higher prices so I can keep a job.
  12. Anytime you can fish a new lake it is worth it. If you are taking your own boat try Roy Greer @thebassclinic.com, he will go on your boat with you for a lot less than a guide with his boat, plus he is very knowlegable. Beware there are some guides up there that will spend the whole day chasing the better guides around the lake. Been there done that, it's pretty disappointing.
  13. Only in America does the public make a big deal about drilling for oil offshore, during the election race. Then after election and gas prices drop there is no concern that our land rigs are stacking out (not drilling).
  14. Got a carrot stix from a salesman, and a chronarch from me. Also a $75 debit card from a welder, I'm sure I can find something.
  15. Nor do you have to use that 7' plus heavy rod for your "tube" swimbait, any ordinary rod will work I guess I don't need that $200 Chronarch reel and it probably doesn't matter what line I use either. Maybe fishing really is that simple we just overthink it and make it difficult. ;D See still plenty of smart--- remarks to be made. ;D
  16. Lake Alan Henry, Tx, of course. No pics, was by myself. 8-20ft of water, was slowrolling it to keep it down in lower part of water column. Maybe we can get to gather and make the trip over there sometime next year.
  17. Caught three nice fish on a tough day of fishing winds 15-20, temp. mid 50's,one day after cold front passed. All my fish were caught on a *** Jaw-Jack swimbait in the lower 2/3rds of a major creek channel. Talked to a couple of people at the dock they all reported no catches. Thanks Brent. Quality baits at quality prices and quality service. One down side my jaw-jack is now at the bottom of the lake still attached to my hook, line, reel and rod in 20+ ft. of water. OOPS. I hate when that happens at least it was one of my lower priced rod and reels. But, Hey, I caught fish and didn't get skunked. Yea!! I guess with what I saved in fuel prices I can get another combo. No wait. I already ordered new Curado couple day's earlier and am expecting a rod as a gift. So looks like everything will be alright.
  18. I'll no longer have to pay big$$$$ for swimbaits any more all of my tackle are swimbaits. ;D
  19. toolpush posted a topic in Fishing Tackle
All I want for Christmas is my tru-tungstens, my tru-tungstens, my tru-tungstens All I want for Christmas is my tru-tungstens, my tru-tungsten 4-inch swimbait.
  20. I agree, fish your strengths and master them. Fish with what you enjoy most otherwise it becomes work. I too have a lot of crank and jerk baits that I never use, unless I troll with the cranks. I was just over talking to oil company consultant and he was discussing how thats all he fishes with is jigs and worms, he's in his 60's lives on Lake Amistad and is former tournament fisherman, he's most likely got a good reason for his preference.
  21. I done told you no more, Mrs. Toolpush not happy. I have enough plastics to last three lifetimes and as for the hardbaits, well you'll just have to get the lakes to cooperate with you on eating them. ;D By the way you won't get another dime from me until I see my 4" tru-tungstens.
  22. Making a post and it kills the thread. ;D
  23. Hope some will reread this thread. Today I received 2 different e-mails about paypal transactions, requesting authorizations. The first time I clicked on the link just to see where it would take me and it was avery realistic looking paypal page spoof and requested my credit card numbers. I quickly exited out and they hit me again a short time later, I guess by then I was an easy "mark", I then sent the e-mails to paypal and shortly received a reply that they were indeed phishing attempts. As stated before. Beware!
  24. I was wondering about Him also. Maybe he got his boat built and doesn't need us anymore.
