Dang dude, are you sure the sun did that or did you have your head somewhere it did not belong ;D ;D just kidding, OUCH. I used some nutregena(sp) with like a 85 rating last time i went to lake didn't even have racoon eyes after full day in sun wearing sunglasses. at least wear a hat next time.
  7. i think they are like any bait if you have confidence in them they are a good bait otherwise don't even get them out of tackle box plus most of us will stick to what ever worked before
  8. OUCHHHHH!!! :'( there are hook remover kits available have seen them several places i think bass pro sells one always thought it would be handy to keep in boat never bought one. think i will now after seeing that.
  9. i would try small soft plastics, texas rigged, weightless, maybe a baby brush hog or a 3" senko type bait.
  10. my wife called me at work today and said a friend of ours relatives (17 yr old and his uncle) went fishing at lake brownwood,tx. thier boat was found sunday morning beached with the motor still idling. i believe one if not both bodies were recovered from water today (mon.) i believe this should be an on the water safety wake up call for all of us. my wife was really concerned because i do a lot of fishing by myself had to assure her i always wear life jacket and am extremely careful on water. i hope i still get to go fishing next month. anyway keep the family in your prayers, don't have any names but G-D knows.
  11. That was nice and thoughtful but I would rather be in the dog house. Don't get me wrong, I love my wife but darn. :-? X2 why should there have to be any effort on my part, after all i am the bread winner in this family. and no she would not find this the least bit funny ;D :
  12. off topic, but a pshycology major selling fishing lures i think we found our baitmonkey.
  13. hey guy's and gal's, thanks for all the great input and advice we'll work this out or i'll just load up and go to amistad for 5 day's, at this point i don't think we could stand the car ride together so escape seems the plausible thing to do, and deal with it when i get home. then hope i'm not stuck out at work on our real anniversary date (june 6) so i can come up with an ingeneous way to work myself into her good graces. by the way, my wifes "hobby' is volunteering 50+ hours a week as director of a thrift shop raising funds for a womens recovery center and recovery support groups. she stays quite busy. even though i am a selfish pig. Man I Love That Gal. thanks again.
  14. fluke you are so wise you must have been married a long time this is our 10 year.
  15. i know, i'm an idiot. should have done the weekend thing then told her about the fishing trip an hour before i left.
  16. i told my wife the other day my day's off were coming next weekend and since our anniversary is the first week of june and i'll probably be on the rig that day if she wanted to go see this play and stay at a bed and breakfast next weekend (like she's been wanting to do for a long time). i then asked her if she wanted to drive her own vehicle so i could go ahead and pull my boat since i would be close to lake to fish mon. thru wed. after her reaction to that i told her we would go together and come home sun. then i would leave mon. morning to fish. this morning she told me to just go ahead and go fishing all 5 day's because if she had to have her annivesary weekend revolve around a fishing trip, no thanks. so i guess i'll just do that but what did i say that was so wrong. her > me :-/ ;D

  18. why'd ya wanna go and make me cry for.
  19. i bought a mustang automatic this year and am pleased with it in that when my wife asks if i wore my life vest i don't have to lie to her because it's light enough to wear all day sometimes i even forget it's on, like when i was going to get the truck and trailer and walking thru parking area and was getting these wierd looks from people and looked down and noticed i was still wearing it at least i think that was why, haven't had to use it in water yet, thank you jesus, even though the instuction card tells you to test it before use which doesn't make sense to me cause then you'd have to buy a rearm kit anyway i like mine
  20. berkley frenzy popper (feathered hooks) and a good buzzbait
  21. You do realize that unleaded gasoline is a traded commodity don't you? Big Oil does not set the price of gas. The price is mainly derived by the futures contract as traded on the NYMEX and (shockingly) is driven largely by the price of oil (the largest price input for gas). x2
  22. watch those stumps on Fork, i thought i was being extra cautios and still came home with a hole in my hull.
  23. Earth First! we'll drill the other planets later.
  24. i'm sure the tackle manufacturers will let us know real soon
