Things that people pay way too much for
Wow, I can honestly say I respectfully disagree with every point you made. I think starbucks make's excellent coffee (although I will concede that it is overpriced), and I don't know what kind of convenience stores you have where you live but the ones where I live all have terrible coffee. While it is true that x-raps are cheaper than pointers, IMO they aren't even in the same league when it comes to fishing, especially when the water temperature is in the forties, pointers are golden. As far as Ralph Lauren Polo's, I don't wear polos as much as I use to but all the Ralph Lauren Polo's I've owned have been of much higher quality than other comparable brands.

Lipless crankbaits- which do you prefer?
Lucky Craft LVRs and Strike King Red Eye shads. Both are excellent.

Shimano Chronarch (MG) vs The Curado 200 E
I just bought two curados last week. I was planning on putting them on my flipping and plastics rods but I decided to try one of them on my loomis SB812 today and it is a SWEET setup. You won't be disappointed.

Going to enter my 1st Tourny and want some tips!
Be confident in what your throwing. If you are sure what you are throwing is the right thing, don't change, be patient and you will get bit. Also, fish for five big fish. Unless I'm fishing for points (for club or state team) I don't try to get a quick limit and upgrade. An 8lb limit isn't going to win you a tournament anyway so instead of getting a quick limit and upgrading, fish for five quality bites. Also, never EVER give up during a tournament. Here's why, last october I was fishing a tournament as a rider. I had a solid limit, he had squat. Ten minutes before we had to leave for weigh in, he caught two 4lb smallmouth on his jerkbait on one cast, one on the front hook, one on the back. In the next five minutes, he caught three more smallmouth over 3lbs, finishing out his limit. He ended up coming in second and cashing a check. If he would have gave up like many people would have, he would have went home empty handed. Also, no matter what, don't panic and don't get angry, it won't help.

New Business Idea: Used Fishing Gear Store
exactly. I also think it is an issue of durability. Fishing reels will last a relatively long time if you take care of them, but they can seriously depreciate in value after even five years. A guitar, on the other hand, will last a very long time if you take care of it and it will not depreciate as much. Also, when buying a used guitar, for the most part, I'm not worried about it falling apart in a year or two. With a real, I would be worried. The biggest thing I think though, is what are LBH said. Usually, when you buy new reel, you don't sell your older reel, you use it for another setup. I'm not a golfer but selling an older reel because you bought a new one would be like selling a putter because you bought a new driver. Unless you have a lot of others lying around, you are going to use them both.

A whole bunch of reel stuff.....
I'm in no way knocking pflueger but I would stay away from them if you fish very hard, especially if you plan on using large swimbaits with them. I have several pflueger presidents, and while I do believe they are probably the best reels in their price range, they do not hold up to a lot of abuse. All of mine started to decline performance wise after about a year. For the angler who fishes less than 20 times a year ,they're okay, but if you fish hard you're gonna wear 'em out, at least that's been my experience.

Shimano: I Have Seen the Light
Sorry dude, I need those tour editions until I get the cash to make some more upgrades. If you want some more blue tours, you should check ebay. I've bought several there for $115-120 with free shipping and I know there's some around that price range for sale on ebay right now.

HOW TO CATCH BROWNIES?
Like others said, downsize your line. The heaviest I ever go with smallies is 15lb fluoro when I'm fishing spinnerbaits. Most of the time I use 8lb on spinning rigs and 12lb on baitcasters.

New Jerkbait rod.....
That is one sick combo! Nice work.

Best practical jokes
So what are the best practical jokes you guys have done. I haven't done anything hilarious. I've but Da Bomb (one of the hottest hot sauces available) in some peoples drinks which was pretty funny. I also once super glued my friends milk to his lunch tray so that when he tried to pick up his milk the whole tray went with it and dumped all over him. Probably the best on ever was when I managed to get on of those super sticky mouse traps stuck to my friend's "little friend"... Any of you guys have any good ones...

How Subjective is Sensitivity?
First of all, nobody said you can't catch fish on a $150 rod, I know plenty of local guys who kick my @$$ in tournaments using $50 rods. Nobody here is telling you that you need to uprgrade all of your stuff and that you need to be fishing with $800 combos to catch fish. If somebody has the money and chooses to fish with expensive "Japanese" tackle then who are you to tell them that they're nuts? You say Steez rods are FINE (which they are) but you say that megabass rods are ridiculous to buy because they are imported from japan. Newsflash, steezs are built in japan too. Japanese hooks? Ever heard of gamakatsu? In case you were unaware, they don't cost $10 per hook. On another post you recomended saving money buying a crucial and to use the rest of the cash on lucky crafts. Do you know where the crucial you recomended is made? Japan. Guess where lucky crafts are made? Japan. I gurantee you that a ton of your fishing tackle is "imported" and you are just unaware and/or ignorant. Start checking the backs of packages, a lot of stuff is made in asia. If I limited my tackle selection to things made in the U.S., my tacklebag would be about the size of a lunchbox. Nobody here is looking down on you for fishing with $150 rods and nobody is insulting you so how about you show other people some respect instead of accusing them of being "nuts". You should stop being rude to peole and running your mouth about things you evidently know very little about. Oh, and by the way, I live in the U.S. too.

Shimano: I Have Seen the Light
A few days ago I received my two new curado 201E7s that ordered on ebay ($148.50 each w/ free shipping). Before this I had fished primarily with quantums, although I have tried many other brands. I have several of the blue tour edition baitcasters and spinnig reels and I always thought they were awesome. Since being a member here, I have always thought that the "Shimano is the best" attitude was a load of crap, but since these two reels landed at my doorstep, I have seen the light. The difference between the curados and my tour edtions is unbelievable. The only way I can describe the curado is smooth and solid. Everything about it is perfect. You can just look at the curado and tell that it is built much more soldily than the tour edition. I have officially been converted. From now on, all my reel purchases will be shimanos.

Loomis to Stop Selling Their Blanks!
AHHHHHHH!!! You have got to be kidding me. I only build for myself but now I'm going to have to use St. Croix. I'm gonna be doing some serious stockpiling in the next few months. :'( :'( :'(

How Subjective is Sensitivity?
That's because, to my knowledge, none cost $375. However the Steez rods are supposed to be FINE . rods.. not a lot of rods more than $375 huh... : http://www.megabassusa.com/Baitcasting.htm Try a little price comparison on these megabass rods...

Crucial or IMX
Now that's funny... absurdly wrong, but funny nonetheless! If you are sticking to your argument, you will be the first person I have ever "known" that didn't think IMX was a good value, even though your choice is based on primarily cost, not performance. That's extremely funny. A $250 rod being a "good value"? You're nuts... very rich, spoiled, or crazy. ;D A GLX must be an "ok" rod, if a $250 IMX rod is "good value". LMAO If there was a $60,000 car on the market that performed like a $120,000 car it would still be expensive but if it performs at the same level of twice as expensive than it would be a value. Value and expensive aren't mutually exclusive.

Maryland: Sassafrasa
I'm fishing a tournament as a boater on the sassafras river next weekend and I'm wondering what to expect. I've never fished it before. Any advice? I'm planning on using lipless cranks, spinnerbaits, and jigs mostly. Any other suggestions.

How Subjective is Sensitivity?
So, my question is... how subjective is rod sensitivity. Lately I've heard a lot of people say that rods like carrots stix, crucials, johhny morris elites, and other similar rods are as sensitive or more sensitive than GLXs. I personally don't own any GLXs, but I have fished with some and IMO they are in their own league when it comes to sensitivity. Is sensitivity that subjective that I can hold a GLX in my hand and think its way more sensitive than a carrot stix, while at the same time somebody else can hold a carrot stix and think that it is way more sensitive than a GLX?

Crucial or IMX
That's funny... absurdly wrong, but funny nonetheless! If you are sticking to your argument, you will be the first person I have ever "known" that didn't think IMX was a good value, even though your choice is based on primarily cost, not performance. If the OP has the money to spend, than I would strongly recommend the IMX. The crucial is also a good stick, but that wasn't the question he asked. X2 I think a lot of people get the idea that past a certain price point there are no more good values. This is completely incorrect. Something can be expensive and still be a value based on its performance.
