Skinny Bass
http://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/skinny-fish.html This was some excellent information. I had a bad habit of tossing used plastics overboard. I will think twice from now on.

Sunshine showdown this weekend any predictions?
They always predict "record breaking" fishing now. I think maybe Peter T. will have a good tournament.

tournament pairing
Welcome. You will definately get some opinions here. I think the bottom line is the rules are the rules and you know them prior to signing up. I can see however how some guys might feel as if they are getting screwed.

Horrific incident in Palm Beach, Florida today.
Way too much. You can't watch the news without seeing someting like this. The sad thing is people will blame someting other than the a**hole that did this. Maybe he played too many video games or listened to the wrong music. Maybe his mommy didn't love him of he had some other issue. Well maybe the truth is he was always a f****d up piece of s***t that should have been dealt with a long time ago. I had a friend of mine killed six months ago for no apparent reason. Senseless God Bless his family.

Poll:favorite lure type
A lot of you guys picked what was most effective and I don't think there is any wrong answer. I catch most my fish Crankbaits and plastics but my favorite has to be the buzzbait. There are few things that can get your heart thumping like pulling a buzzbait through some Tullies and have a hawg just crush it on the surface.

BPS Crankin' Stick or Shimano Clarus
I have used the BPS crankin' stick for awhile now and like them very much. I think they are excellent rods for the $$$.

KVD and California
That's pretty funny. Maybe they were making a subtle swipe at the pros not returning to the west? I think it was just a mistake.

Fronts
Please, bore us! Most people who enjoy the outdoors realize wildlife and fish are on the move prior to a quick change in the weather. The animals and fish have a built in survival mode realizing a meal may be difficult to get tomorrow. For deer, elk, turkeys, ect, they somehow know they need extra food to get thru the bad weather coming. Bass are the same as the food chain grinds to a halt with a passing spring cold front (these reasons can be debated later). My wife even knows when there is an approaching front as after her leg surgery her leg throbs. She is also a great indicator of an approaching cold front and when to go fishing. The simple explanation for the jet contrails indicating an approaching cold front is that the high level winds may be moving at over 100mph. This causes whatever is to the west/northwest (exceptions on the east, and gulf coast) to show up in the upper atmosphere first. What this means is if there is a spring cold front approaching there normally will be moisture associated with the front. This high altitude moisture will be blown ahead of the front 24 to as much as 48 hrs depending of course on the speed of the front. With this high level moisture (even unseen) when a jet flys thru the frozen ice particles they get heated and turn into a visible vapor. Again, all the contrails indicate is high level moisture, and high level moisture is normally only in the upper atmosphere in the U.S. in a prefrontal condition. As the front gets closer you will normally see cirrus clouds which look like whispy "horse tails." As the front gets close you should expect to see thunderheads on the horizon. If we agree fish are more active in prefrontal conditions in the spring, contrails means it is time to fish. This is more accurate than the Channel 12 weatherman. I talked to the owner of Lake Fork Taxidermy about weather and catching fish. He said when the anglers would bring a photo of the trophy to get the proper coloration, they would most always be wearing their rain gear in the photo. Maybe not raining but they had it on. Interesting. On Tom Reddington's photo of the 10+ lb bass in Feb he said he got hailed on. It had been in the upper 60's, as fast and violent cold front approached, he got his 10lbr. Tornados everywhere and an ice storm followed. What a day. When there are jet contrails in the sky I am either making them or in my boat watching them. That is some interseting info for sure.

Bass Master Classic Question
I agree with everything except the Elites are pretty much nationwide. Not this year.
