Last trip was a good one for me, but later I met some fishermen that were pretty discouraged. They had one fish between the two of them for two hours of fishing. I was slaughtering them on jigs as senkos were too easy that day. They were fishing the same edges as I,they were fishing senkos, but were fishing a lot faster. They leaped frog me and finished their circling of the pond, caught no more fish, loaded up and left. I was curious, so I picked up the senko rod and fished the same path they had just left. Only difference, I was fishing SLOW. Caught ten fish in that last section (150 yds) following the same path that had skunked them. SLOW DOWN sometimes you just gotta SLOW DOWN.
  6. I use 4/0 gammy ewg still one of the hardest baits for me to get a good hook set, But ya some of the bigger bass can tear them up pretty fast
  7. RECESSION will scare the crap out of him.
  8. need longer arms too.
  9. Congrats, broke my PB 2 days ago. Those bigger fish are addicting
  10. Wind, when I'm finessing and that (velcros) Braided line wrapping around my guides.
  11. LMB 6# plus a fraction. Mine was just 2 days ago, I was trying out a new NRX 852s and was wacky worming a senko,of all things. Just to try the new rod out. LUCKY
  12. Just bought 6 stick jacket a couple weeks ago. I mainly wanted to avoid tangled line while transporting my rods and while out in the boat. They work GREAT!!! so far, well worth the money. I haven't hooked one yet, but that was a concern. I like the stiffness of the mess. Makes it easy to put them on and off. Exactly what I was looking for.
  13. I was wondering also DOES IT SINK ???
  14. I'm RH & use LH casting reels. So much more natural and lots more comfortable and EFFICIENT!!!!!
  15. I was pitching in cat tails the other day and trimmed my weed guard down on a new jig a little too much.. Gained a new appreciation for weed guards real quick.
  16. I own six shimano and one pflueger president. For the money I think your right.
  17. Got my new NRX852s yesterday and was blown away with how light the rod is. Tried it out at a local pond today and nabbed a PB LMB (6#+)as the second fish of the day and after about 15 min. of fishing. Was it cause of the ROD. Probably not, unless it's impregnated with a bit of luck. The rod is noticeably lighter than my GLX852. I really can't tell right now if it is any more sensitive, but then again I haven't fished that much with it. Great fun to fish with and after a few more fishing trips I can give a more informed report.
  18. Stradic 2500 Fi ??? I would really consider the 2500 CI4. I am impressed by the Patriarch though. Have to see how they hold up over the years.
  19. senko 3" ikas power worm

  21. ya i was going to say 6.99999 so i would have been close
  22. What do you use and how do you rig em ?? for the big ones.
  23. I love fishing a jig. I gave up many hours of senko fishing and instead learn jigs.Just something I had to practice a lot(and still do) to get better. If you have a chance to sight fish with one the learning curve is increased. They are every versatile. Well worth the effort to learn, but if you're like me,you have to put in the time. Good luck
  24. I have good success with spro bronze-eye also
