is Lucky craft overpriced??
Exactly, they are definitely expensive but they're worth every penny. I have found very few instances when the saying "You get what you pay for" wasn't true. Will they catch 3 times more bass than rapalas, maybe... but probably not. Will they put a few more bass in the boat than cheaper lures, absolutely. It all depends on whether or not you think that those few extra fish are worth the extra $8-12. well put bass wrangler569 it probly will not catch 3x more bass but it will boat a few more and if you think those few extra fish worth that more money I will end up in the end getting one or two then if they produce the extra fish then I believe it would be worth it for hard baits x-raps maybe the pointer and the popper would be....idk but wat is a sammy havent got to look at em too much but for some odd reason never caught anything much on crank baits but now carp are in the lake I fish and believe they might be killin of the bass........just my thought but in the past the tiny tiny cranks have worked 8-)

St. Croix or Fenwick in the price range???
Yea mostly this rod will be throwin jig and pigs 1/2 to 3/4 oz or so t-riged worms and senkos just as you do so sounds great that you have a good success with your avid (also be an all around for a short while) but for micro thats what I have heard both sides of the story that the "HMG is equal to the avid" your qoute not mine as I have not fished both rods but havent heard as much talk about the AV vs. the Avid hopefully I will get the chance to own both some day but for now I will have to decide on just buying one of them most likely what goes on sale or if once in a life time deal pops up apon me thanks to evvery1 who commented

St. Croix or Fenwick in the price range???
alrite I have just bought a curado 200dhsv (701 gear ratio) and wanted to put it on a better rod than the shimano one it came on but I dont know what would be better either a St. Croix Avid Fenwick Techna AV (fenwick Hmg Hmx) cheaper but could still be an opition either way it would be a 7' med or med-heavy rod fast action or so this could change but any comments or thoughts on these rods or if you have anything that is comparable in this price range would be greatly appreciated

New shimano gear but whats the better deal?
well I guess the real question is that: is it better to spend my money on the reel or should I spend it on the rod??
-
New shimano gear but whats the better deal?
well its not I cant afford one over the other but I am not made of money either so I COULD buy the citica and use the money towards a better rod as Redsyn said I want to also pick up a cardiff / allstar mayb combo in 7' MH or so for heavier stuff and trollin so this rod will have to pick up the slack for a while as and all around rod and thats why I some what am leaning towards the citica (i think it looks better too and on the wallet) 8-)

New shimano gear but whats the better deal?

limited tackle on new lakes
top 5 is tough if you have no idea so i would try to keep it simple with natural colors not in order x-rap size 8 (either slivers or the perch) senko style bait rigged weightless and wacky or ribbon tail in 7.5" worms frog (watermellon is good greneral color ) if you have pads or heavy cover jigs in different weights and grubs then some sort of topwater chug bug , hula popper its your call here

Rapala's X-Rap
sorry forgot to say that when I said we were using xraps in 12s and trolling super shad raps and stuff that was all for northern pike but I use the 8s for and 10s for bass ( sorry for any confusion ) should b all clear now 8-)

Rapala's X-Rap
last wed. the x-raps were making a killin out on the lake near my house. some nice size bass and carp were hitting them I like the 8s cuz of the size they put up a great action and had a good depth but when I was catching them that day I twitched it bac then paused reelin in the sack as you twitched then repeat all the way back they hit it pretty hard when we started to do that. but then we tried to troll some super shad raps and kickin minnows and the x-raps 12s and (14s range) but no luck doing it that way :-/ but the other day the 8s were my go too bait that day
