ehh I have got a few used them but would not buy them again as aleast around here they are not the best lure as I had much better luck with cheaper baits that are consistant

once you are in Northern CA n there are a lot of monster bass I would say around 300-400 size and quick ? what size swimbaits you plan on throwing? which would tell you sizes for the rod power and length hope that helps ;D been reading another thread and this seems to fit your price range http://www.***.com/descpageRDCGLOOMIS-GLSR.html 955-956 as reading about fourbizz and branuss04 sayin its the perfect factory rod built for swimbaits set with a calcutta would be sweet ;D

they use round for the line cap and can afford to but on heavier line or higher test what price point are you looking at for a real? cardiff is $99 and calcutta is the next step up for shimano at 219 and up ( tad bit lighter than curado 300 but cant speak for curado 300) I know a lot of people who use these reels and realy enjoy sorry cant comment on those rods sure someone will soon :

Yea I was lookin to buy some baitcasting rods and have looked at some more expensive set ups and I was iffy on just going with a ASR b/c looked pretty sweet now I know secound hand they are good I will have to give a secound look at em

yea micro you are probly right just depends on what you are fishing I guess

Low profile reels vs round reels does the round still offer the same things as do the low other than the obivous size differnce / feel does any one use them / like them more as you can buy a high quilty round reel for cheap compared to the low round has more line cap gernely lighter for that size you get

never seen an Avid for only $100 where did you see these and are they still only 100bucks??

not saying you need one but I have used a portable depthfinder as a friend bought one and I have used many times from shore. you tie on a gen bobber like thing as if it was a lure and cast it out and leave it out there as it acts as a transmiter to the fish finder on shore then same as having one on the boat yet cheaper verson
