  11. well I would stay clear away from 2peice rods for musky as they are big fish and could take the top part right off but a good one peice I hear only good things about from friends and people I fish with is the Shimano compre and cardiff which runs new around $190 but dont know what price range you realy did want muskiefirst.com has more there for muskie fishing thou I would ask there good luck
  12. for me in my local lakes and ponds big swimbaits and top waters like buzzbaits and popers some floating rapalas work great. you dont catch as many fish but when you land them they are monster bass
  13. yea we have fished canada for 20+ years with St. Croix premiers and never had one problem. and these rods are under constint stress and always have a huge fish on the other end
  14. thanks for all the info guys and if Dicks SG has St. Croix Avids for only $99 I WILL GRAP A FEW in a heartbeat I gotta check it out when I decide I put up all the monster bass I catch on it ;D
  15. around 100-150 for the rod and about the same for a reel
  16. i was lookin to upgrade some of my older rods so i am looking at buying a good all around baitcasting rod and reel for general purpose and was woundering what you guys think thanks ;D

  18. ok what does parabolic mean in comparson to other actions as med lite heavy where would it land between are all ready known actions? thanks
  19. i am considering gettin either the st. croix or carrot stix and was woundering if the carrot stix is sold in any stores so i could get a feel for it
  20. darn its $500 got confused with the sarros
  21. just bought a Johnny Morris spinning reel the JM 4000 and is very smooth and well made cant wait to bring it out on the water generally BPS brand is a generic brand its well made with out the price that the brand names bring
  22. dont worry you will get the hang of it but just dont have your first cast be into that heavy cover b/c most lilkly you will get a backlash and a birdsnest cuz has happened to me and caught a bass was a big hassle but still got the fish and untaggled the mess. i would agree that baitcaster is the way to go and would probly get a 7' + baitcast rod with a cardiff reel. and try throwing frogs and weedless baits such as worms. have had large success with a popper around the edges of the cover @ the pond near my house could give it a try ;D
  23. i would say around 8#s for that reel as you say but doestnt mean you cant get heavier line than 10 but the heavier than 10 for that reel is not a good idea b/c you wouldnt have much line on it.
  24. If you want you can still catch the Bass Pro Shops spring classic sale were you would get better deals once the prez reels are on sale and the bionic blades are also onsale with that combo (sold seprately) would be with in your price range just around $100-110 round about with the current sale through the 16th of march. for those math fans thats around $140 combo. so thats just another idea, you could go that route or I would look at sales at the store if you can go. ;D good luck and hope that helped tell us what you decide. 8-)
