  1. Depth first, color second. Question for those that right the depth on the crankbait. Do you also write it on your deep divers? If so, how do you know how deep it's actually going, & do you write down the line size seeing that it directly affects the depth. Honest questions. Thanks.
  2. Good job bud. Looks like a killer area.
  3. Thats just it. NO ONE knows where to get a hold of one. It also makes me wonder if this thing turned out to be a total flop or what and the maker went bankrupt or something. The company obviously doesn't respond to anybodys inquiries and they don't have any to sell in any tackle shops/sites. Sounds kinda fishy to me. Still..none the less that thing looks sick, but they always do in the promo videos : No kidding. I almost ordered the banjo minnow once Close call
  4. Norman Fat Boy Mann's C4 Rapala DT Fat Sureset
  5. Very interesting concept. I'll probably wait to hear some feedback before I purchase one but I am interested.
  6. I used to use Gamakatsu treble hooks until my local store ran out one day so I tried the ST-41's. They are so much better then Gamakatsu hooks I'm never going back. I don't know why anyone wouldn't use these treble hooks.
  7. Very cool looking bait.
  8. Man that's some awesome looking water. I'm a huge swimming senko fan & it's been one of my go to baits for a few years. In the second pic the swimming senko on the left looks a lot bigger. Is that because it's closer to the camera or are they now making a larger one.
  9. Awesome job guys. Man that feels so good once you find the pattern & just kill them.
  10. That's actually a very good starter swimbait. Light & small enough to still cast easy & get bit. At the same time it's got a big enough profile to attract the big ones. I personally like the Jaw Jack swimbaits by *.
  11. I would start out with a hollow body / paddle tail swimbait. If you've never fished swimbaits before it's going to be real hard to have confidence in the large swimbaits right away. I personally had to work up to the big ones both mentally (gaining confidence) & physically (acquiring the right gear for giant swimbaits). You'll be able to throw the hollow body swimbaits on a normal spinner bait set up. Now I'm confident in all sizes & the hollow body has become a go to bait for me.
  12. Check out this video: Not really a fall, but funny anyway. Holy crap that's awesome Fishing: I wanted to catch an 8 pounder & I caught a 9. Life: Got married
  13. Just my 2 cents but I would use it to get a new Reel 1st & a new rod 2nd. It's not every day that you have $300 to drop on fishing gear so why not put it towards something a little more expensive. Lures, line, & accessories are something you can buy every day without breaking the bank. However your reels & rods are something you usually have to save for.
  14. That's hard to believe, but only because I can imagine it. That would be a heck of a fishing trip if true. That's awesome.
  15. It will be more appealing to the larger fish but IMHO it wont necessarily deter the smaller ones from biting. I've caught some bass that were smaller then the lure I was using.
  16. I personally would go with the spro bbz-1 shad.
  17. Best traps in my book. The xcalibur one knocker is really cool as well.
  18. A couple of weeks ago I was talking to an old fishing bud who let me know that he is not at all excited to go fishing this year. To me that just doesn't make sense but for him it's very real. He filled me in that he now takes fishing too seriously & doesn't go fishing for the shear enjoyment of fishing. That I do understand. I know exactly what it feels like to get so excited to go "fishing" that you forget the excitement of fishing. Let me explain. Many times I get so geared up to fish a certain spot, with a certain lure, at the perfect time that I get frustrated when I get on the water & nothing is how I imagined it. When I thought the weather was going to be perfect, it ends up being less then ideal. When I thought the big fish would be biting it seems like only the small ones are. Or worse yet, nothing is biting. On those days I get so caught up on the bad that I forget to enjoy the blessing of just being on the water. Well before we finished talking I asked him if he had thought about taking his nephew fishing. He let me know that it had been a thought but not one that he had ever pursued. I reminded him of something that he already knew very well, fishing is contagious. I asked him to take his nephew fishing & instead of focusing on catching fish for himself, focus on helping his nephew catch a fish. Today my friend gave me a call & said that he had just gotten off the lake with his nephew. I asked how it went & he let me know that it was one of the most enjoyable days he could remember fishing. His nephew caught only one fish, a very small sunfish, but the joy it brought him was something special. More importantly the joy it brought to my bud was something he didn't really expect. It really put it all back into perspective. Catching fish is really just the icing on the cake. The time you get to spend by yourself, or with others making memories, is the true joy of fishing. Guess who can't wait to go fishing again
  19. River2sea for me as well. Bobby's perfect frog is a close second. Both are a little softer allowing for better hook sets.
  20. Absolutely love them. My 2 best colors are Bone & Smoke Shad.
  21. I've had some of my best topwater days when you would have thought that there was no way a bass would hit a top water. Most notably would be killing them on a white buzzbait when it was snowing. Once in a lifetime I'm sure but never the less it proves a point.
  22. Absolutely beautiful my friend. Nice fish to. Congrats.
  23. Lost a good pair of sunglasses because I had them on my hat when I took it off to swat away a wasp. Also sometimes I get a so excited about getting to a new spot that I forget to bring up the trolling motor. The last time I did that I ruined a pretty nice trolling motor. Nothing like putting the hammer down only to have your tolling motor bent to H$!! because it hit a stump > ;D
