  1. Great job bud. That's a beautiful fish. Really nice marking on it. I'd say a healthy 4lbs
  2. I personally use the Yellow Magic Magnums. I like the larger size. Easier to cast as well as giving the bass a little larger profile.
  3. What exactly do you mean by blade configuration. I was always under the impression that the bass doesn't ever really see the blade at all. They see the commotion that it's making but they don't ever see the actual blade right? I thought that the blades purpose was to bring the lure to the surface & create as much noise as possible. If the buzzbait runs true then the head/skirt section should be directly below the blade catching the eye of the bass. Which in turns causes the bass to strike the lure not the blade. Honest questions. I love fishing with buzzbaits but I'm not real confident with them & I want to be. I always feel kind of lucky when I catch a fish on a buzzbait. I however did lose my largest bass ever while fishing a buzzbait. Man that thing was huge :'(.
  4. Offense: Barry Sanders, Cris Carter, Earl Campbell, Brett Favre, Emmitt Smith, & Walter Payton Defense: Ronnie Lott, John Lynch, "LT", Darren Woodson, Jason Sehorn, & DeMarcus Ware
  5. Awesome fish. I agree, I really like the dark coloring. Do you think that the lake is a little over populated? Seems like a lot of the toads you catch from "Lunker Lake" have huge heads, nice length, but not the girth you would expect from a bass with such a big head. Ever thought about keeping a couple of the small ones from time to time to give the big girls a little less competition? Of course it could just be the classic summer time "skinny" bass. Just wondering.
  6. Absolutely. And better yet, great catch GMAN
  7. Nice fish. Looks like an awesome area to fish as well.
  8. Man the look on your face says it all. Excellent job my friend. And like some of the others said on here, if you know that its your PB who cares if it's 2 or 2 1/2 lbs. You know you just caught your biggest bass ever. I'm sure you've got the itch to catch an even bigger bass now, so stop reading all the congrats & get out there & catch a 4 pounder
  9. Does anybody know when this fish was caught. Still not a whole lot of info out there. July 2?
  10. No matter the outcome, congrats to the angler. Awesome fish. Now, let the debates begin.
  11. My go to lure is the one that the fish are biting ;D. If I can't buy a bite for anything & I need to get my hands stinky i'll throw on a suspending jerkbait. Probably in a ghost minnow with a chartreuse dressed treble hook on the back.
  12. Totally agree with RoLo. *** 10" hookup has become my new favorite summer worm. I feel like I can work it a little faster & yet still present it properly. However the title of the thread is "What is your favorite soft plastic for summer time?" not What soft plastic works best in the summer time. With that being said most people will still say Senkos, and a watermelon red flake senko (edit: *** ) just happens to be my #2 summer worm
  13. Lake fork is my home lake & i've seen tons & tons of Lake Fork Taxidermy Mounts & they all look awesome. Really really good taxidermy there.
  14. Wow that's awesome. She sure does have a good fisherman to teach her & an even better dad. Great job.
  15. For never having caught a smallmouth before you sure made your first one a good one. Congrats.
  16. Can't say that I remember ever hitting anything alive in the air while casting. However one time my fishing bud was casting straight out the back of the boat while I was casting straight out the front of the boat & our DD22's locked treble hooks behind our heads right before letting it rip. Need less to say we both got such bad backlashes that we both had to cut & respool.
  17. Really nice fish there bud. Great job.
  18. ;D that's awesome. I've actually had that happen before too. A big bullfrog launched itself from shore to land on my Super Spook. Aggressive suckers aren't they.
  19. Totally agree with Dink whisperer on the C-rig or drop shot. However I wouldn't pass up ripping a trap across the top of the submerged grass. Also steadily reeling a spinnerbait so it ticks the top of the grass would be another go to for me. & last but not least would be using a jig or T-rigged plastic to punch through any abnormal spots in the grass that I see. Just trying to give you a few more options. Good luck and let us know what worked.
  20. Man your 8 pounder has a monstrous head. That would be a real beast in the spawn. Good job bud.
  21. Obviously you found a spot that looked good to you but maybe not for the fish. Did you graph any fish in that spot? All logical sense says that that's were they would be at, but as we all know bass don't always play by our rules. So my best two guesses are 1.) The fish just weren't at that particular spot on the lake. 2.) The fish just flat out weren't in a feeding mood. Maybe live bait was the only ticket to catching them after 9:30
  22. Awesome job. Really beautiful looking lake too.
  23. Catching fish like that, I would say she might already be there . And I agree, you have done good sir. Priceless pic & be sure to tell her congrats from the BR family. Oh yeah, how big?
  24. Hmmmmm interesting. No I haven't but it sounds like a pretty cool idea.
  25. Oh I agree. I was just saying that he could check out those who actively participate in the forum. I'm only talking about those with a post count of 0. Until they post something I would say they haven't actively participated yet in the forum. Looking & not posting isn't really any different then not being a member & looking IMHO. Except you get to see the pictures
