  1. Well I sent mine but not sure if it's on time. 11 am here but not where your at :-/ we'll see I guess
  2. I used to manage a Marble Slab Creamery for 4yrs. It was a good thing that for the most part I don't eat ice cream that much. However getting it for free sure made it really hard to keep that up. I used to have fun making my own flavors of ice cream. However I never came up with anything that was any better then what we already offered.
  3. Yeah I feel you pain. Here in Denton Tx it got to 95 today & this is just the beginning or summer.
  4. HAHA wow my mind was somewhere else. I thought this was going to be a thread about a Mom who didn't like the fact that her son was dating a "Cougar". You know maybe some sort of confrontation video. Guess I got my hopes up.
  5. Awesome job & an awesome fish my man. Feels good don't it.
  6. HAHA. After I saw the 1st post I thought "man I know where this is going to be heading real fast". ;D
  7. One of my work buds & I were chatting it up about fishing today & we got on the subject of Healthy fish vs Weight. He would rather have the bragging rights of a heavy fish that doesn't look good then catching a really healthy, fat beautiful LMB that weighs less. So that got me thinking, what would I rather catch. BOTH. HAHA. But I think that I'm leaning to the healthy fat fish, rather then the long skinny heavy fish. So here is the ? Would you rather catch a super healthy, really fat 10 pounder. OR A long skinny 13 pounder. Remember, there's no wrong answer. Just want to hear your input. [EDIT] Tournaments are out of the ?. This is purely recreational. The answer would be too easy if money was on the line.
  8. Awesome job man. Looks like you had an awesome day.
  9. Just got my pics back from my bud so I figured I would post them even though it's a little late. You know your gonna have a good day when the first fish you catch you weren't really trying to. We get to our spot & I make my first cast right into the wind. Good going Jeff, it's always good to start the morning by giving yourself a massive birds nest to pick out >. Well while I was picking out the birds nest this beauty cleared the water with my jerk bait in her mouth. I didn't even care that the i hadn't finished picking out the backlash I just started reeling. Well that just pretty much set the tone for the day. She went for 6lbs 4oz. http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu35/bassman31783/Fishing%20Trips/4_27_2009/6lbs6oz2.jpg This is my bud Hans with his 6lbs 1oz caught on an *** jaw jack swimbait. http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu35/bassman31783/Fishing%20Trips/4_27_2009/6lbs1oz.jpg This was the last one of the day going for 6lbs 6oz also caught on an *** jaw jack swimbait. http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu35/bassman31783/Fishing%20Trips/4_27_2009/6lbs4oz2.jpg
  10. Last fall my dad & I went up to Lake Fork for a day of fishing. We had already been the day before and locked into a solid pattern. Throwing a silver swim-senko, or a chartreuse buzz bait, over the pads & bringing it back was just killing them. Nothing too significant, the largest going just over 6lbs. Well that changed real quick that evening with about an hour left. It got real calm & I was chunking the buzz bait about 30'-40' into the pads. All of a sudden I could see it coming through the pads like a freight train. I quickly yelled out to dad "look look look". It came up to the surface & was creating a huge wake behind the bait. When i say that thing opened up it's mouth to inhale the bait I'm not kidding at all. That thing had the biggest mouth I had ever seen. Well she took the bait & when I felt the line get heavy I did a celebrity hook set to make sure that girl was on. The problem was that it was so far back into the pads that I never really stood a chance to begin with. She snapped the 20# braid like it was nothing 10 sec into the fight. & that's all she wrote. I was sick, heart broken & seriously ticked. My dad said sorry to me then laughed cuz his legs were shaking. He was with his best friend years ago when his best friend caught his PB on Fork weighing 13 1/2lbs. My dad said he had no doubt that this one was bigger.
  11. 44" musky on a pencil popper. wow that was fun.
  12. Possibly, but we'll never know now will we . A bass that size i would probably put around 9.5lbs pre spawn, but it could easily go for 10 if it had just ate a hefty meal.
  13. Oh I'm a Texas boy as well, so i know all about our trespassing rights. HAHA
  14. Rangers, & Twins. Used to follow the Twins religiously when Kirby Puckett played. One of my cousins used to be the sports broadcaster for the Minneapolis news station, and was golfing buddies with Chuck Knoblauch. So some where i've got some nice autographs and memorabilia from the 87 & 91 Twins.
  15. Awesome man, but i got to ask you one question. Do you keep the rifle in your boat to shoot at fish, birds, or other fishers that get too close to your honey hole. ;D
  16. Something that has worked out really well for me, in a very similar situation, is throwing very realistic baits. Right now those realistic baits are smaller swimbaits. 5" - 6". Like others have said they are seeing all the worms, cranks, spinners & so on & so forth. I either go small or go super realistic. Has worked for me so far. That's how i caught the bass in my AV.
  17. <<<<<9lbs. SOOOOOO close. HAHA. Yeah mine is still out there as well.
  18. "Slow Rollers" "Cast Masters" "Kicker Fishers"
  19. Let me explain. A singular person who always travels with a band does NOT count. ie, John Mayer. You need to have a group of musicians who are, collectively, trying to reach a singular purpose/sound/idea, through music. ie, John Mayer Trio. Got it. In no particular order here are my top 5. Earth, Wind, & Fire Tower of Power TOTO Jamiroquai Massive Attack Right behind them is a plethora of bands like Doobie Brothers John Mayer Trio Steely Dan Bela Fleck & The Flecktones Foreigner Huey Lewis & The News The Isley Brothers Double Trouble (SRV) Kool And The Gang Ohio Players Sting & The Police The Gap Band and sooooo many more..... Let's see what you got.
  20. The thing i love so much about finesse fishing is that when you see the line move, and feel the "tick" you never know if it's a 1 pound bass or a 10 pound bass.
  21. Yes it does work, but not as good as the wart removal pads that you can buy. I used to have 3 huge warts on my right knee when i was young. Hated those things and could never get rid of them. Finally i went to a doctor and had them burned off. I'll never forget though that the doc told me that warts are NOT a fungus but rather a viral skin infection. With that being said he told me to take odorless garlic pills for about a month to make sure that no more warts pop up in another location. Low and behold after i stopped taking them about two months later i get a wart on my hand. So i started taking them again and within 2 weeks it was gone. All that to say, i would use the wart remover pads & buy a bottle of odorless garlic pills. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised to not have any more unsightly warts again. Once again ODORLESS garlic pills. Your trying to kill warts, not your chances with the ladies ;D
  22. 1.) I can always catch a fish on a jerk bait. 2.) Soft plastics. 3.) Pin point casting.
  23. One time to use top water baits that i think gets overlooked is during the hottest, brightest time of the day. When it gets like this bass either go deep or find shade, for the most part. Lilly Pads provide great shade in accessible water. Throw a frog over the top and man you can just kill them some times. Doesn't always work but some of my best topwater days have come from fishing like this. Plus it's just a ton of fun.
  24. Man jerk baits are one of my absolute favorite ways of fishing. I agree with everyone else that the LC Pointers are probably the best jerk baits on the market. However i have caught more fish on the BPS XPS series jerk baits. If money is not a problem then i would go with the pointers or even the jackall squad minnow. If your looking for a great jerk bait for not much money then i would go with the BPS XPS series.
