C-Rigging a floating plastic?
My favorite c-rig bait is a Stanley Ribbit Frog. I've only caught a few nice ones off it before

Hitched
Wait wait wait. You got married on the 25th of july 2009? If so thats pretty cool. So did I. HAHA. Yeah I sure as heck have not gotten used to the thing. Can't stop pulling it off then putting it back on. I also keep pulling it off past the first knuckle, then spinning it on the finger. She doesn't like that at all. ;D

Sellers Lake, Fl
Nice job man. Catch that sucker again at spawning time and you got yourself a real trophy.

How do you match the forage base?
Perfect!!! Watermelon is just a great color no matter what. Like bigtimefish said, you can pretty much put any color flake into the watermelon & catch fish. However I prefer watermelon with red flake most of the time.

Yellow Magic Poppers
Yes they are awesome. I use the Yellow Magic Magnums 99% of the time. Very very good bait but so are many of the others like Rico poppers, and the Jackall Grande SK-Pop. All & all the yellow magic's are my most consistent big bass catchers when it comes to poppers though.

Frustrated!!! Please Help
Without a doubt try JJ's Magic.

Frustrated!!! Please Help
I guess my biggest question would be how are you rigging the worm & what size of hook are you using. Matching the right sized hook for each worm is one of the most over looked ingredients in worm fishing IMHO. If your T-rigging your plastic try exposing the tip of the hook a little. If that doesn't help then try switching to wacky style.

If you could, WHERE?
I was fortunate to grow up 20-30min from Lake Fork. Sadly I have moved, but only 2hrs away now so I still get to fish it consistently. As for other lakes I would have to go with. -Falcon -Amistad -Castaic -El Salto -Huites

cold front
Dude, IMO you nailed it. With one exception. I can't enjoy shakey head fishing. Way to much grass in the lakes I fish. Yeah that's why I put it last. If there's thick grass I won't be throwing the shakey head. But if I can find a section where there is a distinct contrast from grass to gravel, & I can work the edge effectively, then I'll throw it if nothing else is working. But that's about it. I hate picking off the grass after every cast on those goofy things.

A bunch of high country trips across the west! REALLY LONG< LOTS OF PICS
Absolutely beautiful pics my man. What an awesome post.

cold front
The very first thing I tie on after a cold front is a suspending jerkbait. I work it with long pauses. This has been my most consistent cold front producer. My other rods would have these tied on. -Colorado blade spinnerbait (skirt color dictated by water clarity & blade color dictated by cloud cover or lack thereof) -1/4oz - 1/2oz jig -Shakey head with some sort of straight / finesse worm

If You had to Keep A Bass to Eat
Should be fine. First of all keeping a few bass every once and a while will NOT hurt the ponds' ecosystem. Second, I used to live on a small private pond & I would keep a few bass from time to time to eat. If cooked correctly they are quite nice, but as a whole they are not the best tasting fish. IMO only the smaller bass taste OK. Once they get past 2.5lbs they usually start tasting pretty fishy.

New PB In My Secret Lake
Nice fish man. I was gonna guess 7.5# but that's because your holding your left hand over the important part.

First
Can't remember for sure but I'm pretty sure that it was either a Teeny Torpedo or a Beetle Spin.

Best Night Topwater
I'm with LBH on this one. Go big & dark, & you'll go home a happy man.

Slug-Go by Lunker City
I absolutely love them. I think a lot of people have gotten away from them and gone to the fluke style baits. I fish both all the time. Some times a fluke will kill them, then other days the Slug-Go is ticket.

adventures of a swimbait novice - season 2.
I'm with you. Just started to fish the big baits seriously this year. So much fun. I have yet to catch a really big bass on one yet. Biggest so far has been about 4lbs. It's amazing to me how many 2.5 / 3 pounders you will catch on an 8in bait. Is that the Catch-22 you were fishing with?

07/08 outing MONSTER LMB

Unusual places you'd love to fish
There is a small lake in Tyler Texas called Greenbrier. Unbelievable lake. However it is smack dab in the center between a nursing facility & uber rich housing. The lake also has no boat ramps. The only way you can fish it is to get permission from one of the few people that live on the lake that have a boat ramp on their property. My fishing bud's best friend years ago had a relative that lived on the lake & had a ramp. My bud only got to fish the lake 1 time but made it a good one. Two 8's & one 10 pounder that he now has a replica of hanging on the wall. Legendary lake that only a few have ever gotten to fish. Before I moved up to Denton a couple of years ago there was talk about opening it up to the public but I don't think that ever happened.
