  1. Yep 25 HP, but I have been on the lake and seen boats with larger motors so I beleive little is done to enforce.
  2. Yes it is for Dominion Power, Kincaid Station. Has 3 arms, one stays fairly warm.
  3. Yes a lot of folks use this for swimbaits, 17lb should be about right. Nothing wrong with Big Game, good line at a great price. My perferred Mono. I forgot to say welcome aboard.
  4. I like adding a nail weight on in the tail end. Hook it 3/8 from the top and Tex Pose hook it. It will stand vertical. Drag it. This is a good finesse presentation around sparse weeds.
  5. I do not care how cold it is, I need to get to open water. I plan on heading down to Sangchris this weekend and eat wings at Hooters in Springfield.
  6. P-Line CXX. I used Iron Silk years ago but have found that CXX is much better. Give it a try. http://www.cabelas.com/p-0018809.shtml
  7. Congrats and good luck Brian. There is nothing like hard work performed for personal gain versus gain for working hard for someone else. Different problems but better rewards. Glad you had the courage to take the plunge. We will miss you at Pickwick but I am sure that time of the year your business will need you.
  8. Has anyone actually had a Quantum fail? I use them along with Shimano and Diawa but I never had one fail. Of course I am a weekend warrior only. If so what failed?
  9. Well at least you still not walking on water like some of us. :-/ :'(
  10. Leo, Regarding the jig, do you mean to slowly hop the jig from the flat to the ledge and off it? I had more success dragging slowly, pausing and shaking on the pause. I have had some luck hopping it but just a small lift.
  11. Gale if you would give me as heads up on Sangchris if you go. Thanks Leo
  12. I gave them a try when they first came out. Unless they improved the durablility issue I would not recommend them. They tore up just by casting.
  13. I never fished the waters that you are asking about but I would never overlook a jig in that type of situation. I would tip with your favorite craw. Mine is a Rage Tail Craw or chunk depending on jig used or profile needed. Give a Wiggle Wart a go. If they seem to like something red Wiggle Wart has a Red Craw pattern that may work. Depending on line size you could beat the bottom, just stay with 8-10 lb test. I have found that ledges in pre-spawn a bait worked slow will get more bites.
  14. I would rather party with Zona then fish his waters, you need to get with the program Glenn!
  15. Was thinking of heading down to Powerton next weekend but now I am thinking Sangchris. Anyone have any reports good bad or indifferent on Powerton?
  16. so what? x2 x2x2 How about quit reading them and move on if they bother you so much? No one forces you to open any thread. : How dare you use common sense and logic. Winter must have been just to long for some.
  17. Rubbin' a little salt in Leo's wound Kent? Sadly now I am severely damaged. Two more Bass Ales now for you Kent. One for me one for you.
  18. I have both, when I bought the Curado, I did not want to spend the money on the Chronarch, then I bought the Chronarch. I guess it depends if you want to spend money. Both are good but the Chronarch is great.
  19. Mike I hear you, I lost about one month ago My Honey, she was a Cocker that was an adult when we adopted her 2 years ago. They said she severe arthritis. When I met her it was love at first site. She was near 20 lbs overweight. Long story made short we walked she lost weight, no more meds and lived her last years proud and as lovable as the day she was born. Thanks for sharing it helped me to remember, never forget that is the greatest honor we can bestow.
  20. I rarely go over 3 feet. Most times I will use as little as 18 inches. I find that a shorter leader allows for better feel of what the baits is doing and improves hook ups. If I go longer it may be only to float the bait above weeds but mostly i will fish this on a weedless bottom to search with.
  21. Stop!!!!!!!!!!!! All this talk of open water fishing is making me ansy. We still have near a foot of ice. d**n it I am heading south to fish a power plant lake.... I can't take it!!!!!!!!!!!!. I hope you all are happy. I think I feel better now. Cubs still suck.
  22. A topo map will provide you with depth and contour information. A good one will provide bottom composition, weed and wood data. I am afraid that the maps you provided will be of little value. Based on these maps and this being your home lake you probably will know more about this lake then most here. The point and bay on the NW side of the lake does look interesting though.
  23. Fisherman's Prayer God grant that I may live to fish For another shining day, But when my final cast is made I then most humbly pray, When nestled in your landing net As I lay peacefully asleep, You'll smile at me and judge That I'm "good enough to keep." For Grandpa
  24. Ittttttttt's Baaaaaaaaaack!
