  1. 4th place, WOW that's great! Bet it felt like a win, I foresee an angler of the year very soon!
  2. Sorry about being so loud Big O, I never had a smallie that big in my boat. Ole Fred was shakin like a leaf! I just screamed like a school girl.
  3. Well to say the least we had a wonderful time fishing and visiting with all the good folks who attended. The weather after last Sunday was perfect. Moderate winds, bluebird skies and temps in the Mid 80's to low 90's. We averaged 43 fish a day and at least 2/ 5 bag limits a day. Even caught a surprise or two. Had a lot of laughs in the evening sharing stories which is the best part of any trip. Here are a few photos of some of the best caught in our boat. I do not know how that kitty got in the boat. Old Cranky ( Fred's) Smallie weighed in at 6 lbs 3 oz. The largest we caught. My Largemouth weighed in at 5lbs 8oz and was the largest we caught on the trip. To say the least we hope to go on the next Roadtrip and can not wait until next year!
  4. We made it back, had a wonderful time! We averaged 43 fish. a day and 2 five bag limits a day. Wil post some photos of the better ones when I can. Great to see everyone!
  5. I agree, but if he didn't have any previous charges and convictions (which I don't think he did) this is in fact quite a punishment. Serving ANY time on a first conviction is rare. If he had done this back in the "wild west" days we all know what would have happened!!!! I do believe he played himself off as a religous man as well. His real punishment will come at another time. This happened in Texas, no offense against the Texas Boys but I am sure he will get what he has coming to him. Bass Fishing is a nobel sport.
  6. I plan on bringing a couple of bottles of my home brew Merlot to try. Gary gets a full glass!
  7. Extended forecast after Sunday looks great! I will see all Sunday afternoon!
  8. I use either a Kalons 5 " Grub or a Rage Tail Craw.
  9. Thanks, I had the opportunity last night to try this. My ears are still ringing this morning from having them boxed.
  10. Way to go, congrats.
  11. Simp I have a Garmin eTrex Legend CX I use for that. It is about 4 years old and if I remeber right I paid about $200 for it. I am sure it is obsolete now but Garmin has a great Map Program US Recreational Lakes with Hotspots. I have about 30 waypoints right now for Pickwick plotted. If you get something I will share the coordinates. If I can not find fish at 30 locations I am going home. I used it last year at Kentucky Lake and caught fish everyday. EIther these Hotspots are good or I am lucky.
  12. Outstanding! You should be proud.
  13. Maybe you can adjust your diet some.
  14. I still do. Forget the Ouzo a good Greek Wine ROCKS
  15. Now that there is going to save me a boat load of money, thanks Steve! Now I have to remeber to save my old baits.
  16. http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/products/rods/freshwater/Cumara_Casting.html Guys for what it is worth I have been struggling with good hookups with a Swim Jig. I had the opportunity to hold this rod in a BPS in Cincinnati. Needless to say it left home with me. I used it on Saturday and had 6 strikes with a swim jig which all resulted in a hookup. I never could understand why had had such difficulties with a swim jig. Never any issues with pitching or a football jig but I believe I found a rod to help me with the swim jig. I will get a chance next week to use this rod in all jig applications at the Pickwick Roadtrip. Just wanted to give Shimano a 2 thumbs up I believe they nailed it with this rod. By the way the new Dirty Jig swim jig is just outstanding, they really track true.
  17. I have owned all of these. All perform well. The Curado is best at ease of use. Both the Curado and Patriarch will cast lighter weights, The Diawa Advantage although a fine reel will struggle with lighter weights as opposed to the Curado and Patriarch. In my opinion the Curado 200E7 will make a better all around reel.
  18. We will not be there until SUnday afternoon and plan on hitting the water right away. We will look everyone up on Sunday evening, depending upon how late we get off the water.
  19. Prayers sent, she has been blessed to have a loving family and to be with them for 99 years. As she was blessed on earth so she shall be when the lord calls her.
  20. Good luck Russ, prayers sent.
  21. You have the right to crap your pants!!!!!!
  22. Thanks for sharing, back in the early 80's I spent many a day floating this river.
  23. I was able to pick one up NIB on Ebay a couple of months ago. It was at the original list price. These were sweet reels, cast like a dream. If you look hard enough they can be found.
  24. Courtesy of Firefihghtn15, I will be bringing a pound of fifteen-year-old Wisconsin cheddar. Missed one!
