I use a Cumara MH/EX with braid for my spinner bait application and never have this problem. I just use a sweeping hookset much like you would use for walleye and they stay on the hook. I believe with the EX action and braid they pretty much hook themselves.

If you know they are there try a jig tipped with a Rage Tail craw. I has consistently caught larger Bass when we know they are holding on a spot. My partner throws cranks and will catch them but I will always catch the largest fish with a jig. Never ignore the Jig.
