No kidding. That fight didn't go down like I thought it would. It seemed like BJ was a little too cautious right out of the gate, which enabled GSP to clinch and take him down. (BJ probably didnt think GSP could take him down like that once they clinched) GSP is on a whole different level than all the other welterweights. Speed, strength, ground game, stand-up, cardio, the dude's got it all. BJ's still my boy though.

In my opinion, custom cranks are a must have, even if you only have a few of them. They will draw a strike on the toughest of days. Most times you can 'get away' with store bought cranks but when you can't get a sniff, the customs are good to have around. The Zoom Z Flat is an awesome bait without a doubt, as well as the E2 which has the square bill and I also like the Zoom Tapp real well. Brian's Bee's are excellent cranks with unique actions you just can't find anywhere else in any other bait. Another co. that makes a good custom crank is D Baits. I only have a couple of the D Baits cranks but I am impressed with them so far. BigM here on the site makes some great baits too and his paint jobs are truly works of art.

Same here. I have a habit of just flat out reeling fast. Why? Don't know, it just happens like that. I'd like to see more reels made in the 5._:1 ratio, and even a few in the 4's.

I hope Penn wins it. I've always liked BJ. He's cocky, he lets you know about it and can back it up. I can't stand to hear GSP talk...he sounds like a robot. He's at the top of his game right now and BJ is going to have to be sharp.

Although I'm trying to talk myself out of it, I'm about to buy one. I think you would get more use out of the SI feature if you used it at the driver's console. Just cruise thru an area, scan it, and fish anything you might see on the graph. You'll cover more water with it on the console, idling around with the big motor.

If you're fishing a tournament in Va. I'd toss the worms and buy some jigging spoons. The water is just under 40 here on Smith Mtn, the fish are following the shad around and are suspended most of the day. If the sun comes thru strong and the air temp gets up you may get a jig bite going later in the day but it would probably be a good idea to locate the schools of shad before making your first cast.
