Just because you get knocked down with a block doesn't mean the play has ended for you. These guys play 'til they hear a whistle. Obviously Pollard saw that Brady was getting ready to step up to throw so he hit and grabbed what he could to 'help' Brady make a bad pass.....all the while, Sammy Morris looked like a backpack on Pollard. I'm positive that Pollard would've liked to have hit Brady higher and harder. The circumstances around Brady's injury were almost identical to Carson Palmer's injury a few years ago. It's a contact sport, stuff happens. I'm not a Pats fan by any means but the MVP taking an injury like that is huge for the entire game of football. I see it as very unfortunate. But not cheap.

There is no BEST water temp. Every state is different because of climate. Sustained temps that are lower than they have been thru the summer and the length of daylight getting shorter would trigger the fish to move into fall. Mid to late fall I feel is the better time to fish because the fish are generally at their shallowest point of the season.

Jimzee, dont feel bad. Just remember where some of these guys with the huge bags are fishing. They have chances at monster bags every time they hit the water. It must be nice. I'm jealous. Good bags guys! My best 5 just out fishing is 23-7. In a tournament it's 21-4.

In my opinion there is no alternative to the best mid depth crankin' rod made....the CBR847. I'm a die hard fiberglass guy when it comes to crankin' but the 847 has won me over for throwing mid-depth cranks. I still use the David Fritts DF76 (fiberglass) for all deep cranks and wouldn't even consider anything else for the big billed baits. You should give it a look, it's got a longer than normal handle but I doubt its as long as you want it to be. As someone else said, you'll probably have to have one custom built to get one exactly like you want.

Cassel is not a bad backup. This will make them re-commit to the running game which should help them down the road. They got away from the running game last year and it showed in the Super Bowl loss.

I agree TF, ECU should be in the Top 25, they've earned that. VT lost to Kansas in their BCS game last year, we all know that. Thats why they were ranked 17th to start the season. Then they opened this season with a tough loss at ECU and are no longer in the Top 25. I will say that losing to Kansas in a BCS game was probably a little easier to swallow than WVU losing to PITT (of all people) and getting bounced out of the national championship picture. 8-)

Yeah, ECU is definitely a team on the rise. They're doing a lot of great things on the field and have a solid coaching staff. Although VT played a terrible game against the Pirates, VT had 'em. (and you know it preach4bass don't act like you don't). ECU did not give up.....then they blocked that punt for a TD. Pirates win! All VT had to do was give the punter a little better protection so he could get that punt off and the outcome would've probably been different. But that is why they play. ECU wanted it more and they got it. ECU left no question against 8th ranked WVU.....they took control early and slammed the door on 'em in the second half.

I don't necessarily agree with the call. I'm actually FOR a little celebration, the game is exciting, as it should be. My problem is that all Washington had to do was give the kicker protection whether they got a penalty or not.

I agree that it could've been overlooked.....but Washington still had to protect the kicker, which didn't happen. I don't like/dislike either team....just commenting on the analysts making something out of nothing. If VT had let the other team block a PAT that cost us the game, I'd be all over the coaching staff and the players. It was their job to keep protection and the coaching staff's job to remind them of that before the play went off.

Several of the ESPN analysts are making a big deal about the 'excessive celebration' flag that was thrown against Wasington at the end of the game. Getting that flag backed them up 15 yds on the extra point which would tie the game. Kick gets blocked, BYU wins by one. Game over. I don't get these analysts blabbing on and on about them calling an obvious penalty. Then saying they took the game away from the kids, it's a travesty, worst call this year, blah, blah, blah. The way I see it, BYU could've just as well blocked the PAT from the 3 yd line just like they did at the 18. That was their plan from where ever they kicked it......block it. Washington knew that and should've given the kicker better protection. I just don't see a good argument here and they're making a huge deal out of it. Just because they moved the ball back 15 yards doesn't mean the kick got any easier to block. Now if they would've gotten the kick up and it went wide right, they might have a little traction with that argument.

Excellent question. I'm glad they spanked WVU like that....the VT loss doesnt seem that bad now although it hurt bad for a solid week. At least VT had a couple touchdowns.
