  1. Anybody believe in Bigfoot? Check this out http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/08/14/bigfoot.body/index.html Real or not?
  2. You aint lyin'.....
  3. It is. Claytor is a great smallmouth lake but it holds some really big largemouth too. Our last club tournament up there it took 5 @ 21+ to win. The winning bag had a 7# largemouth in it, caught under a dock on an *** trick stick. The rest of the bag was all smallmouth between 3 and 4 lbs.
  4. Yeah, the Boat Trader comparison should get you in the ballpark.
  5. If things work out right between now and then, you'll be fishing out of a big boat.
  6. Sounds like a fall trip is in the works. I'm down with that.
  7. Burley, you really should spend a little time on SHR. You may just catch something longer than 10".
  8. They are the best of the best that - can afford to fish the Opens and qualify for the Elite Series - can afford the $5,000 per tournament entry fee - can acquire the best sponsors along the way - can exhibit better than average fishing ability on different waters - actually WANT to fish the Elite Tour There are other Elite level bass anglers around but for whatever reason, they dont strive to compete on that level. That Classic in Pittsburgh did suck but they caught what they could find. They practiced, they fished 3 full days, some of them shared baits, info and spots.....but they could only catch what the rivers kicked out. I'm sure more than one guy in that Classic was swinging for the fences after some big fish, it just didnt happen. I don't think it was from lack of knowledge, ability or effort though.
  9. I'm not a big fan of the split rear grip on casting rods either but I do have a few. Loomis should at least lose the foregrip cork on some rods.
  10. I have family in Marion and Chilhowie. Some of the best smallmouth fishing you could ever find is at South Holston Reservoir. That place is great.
  11. C'mon, catchin' bait under a bridge doesn't cut it for a championship shootout. Wow! Four 12 oz "keepers" and a 18 oz "kicker"! Man, that sucks. RW, they can only catch what the rivers and lakes kick out. We've been over this before.

Videotaping won't do any good now....Mangini's not even going to know what Brett's going to run.
  13. Well, the saga is over. Favre has been traded to the Jets. I feel sorry for the Packers, they handled this whole situation like a bunch of circus clowns. The Jets just became a better team in my opinion.
  14. ....with good reasons, of course 8-)
  15. Another thing to consider (actually a BIG thing) is whether or not the dealership has a good reputation and does quality work in a TIMELY manner. Any dealership can sell you a boat. Some of those dealers have great service, some don't. Do your homework before you buy. Good luck with whichever one you choose.
  16. I'll second that. And someone said Triton's are more top of the line than Stratos? Well, that's not completely true. Triton sponsored BASS which only makes them more desirable, not a better boat. If Stratos picked up the BASS deal, you'd see Stratos boats everywhere just like you see Triton's now. I do know Triton pumps out more boats than Stratos but when you push 'em out too fast to keep up with demand, QC issues arise because people are rushed and "things" get overlooked.
  17. I just made a mistake when I posted the poll. It's fixed now....you should be able to choose more accurately now.
  18. I've bought 5 or 6 different straps and the best one I've found is actually a knee strap. I like it because it's thin, the velcro holds tight and it has a hard piece of foam in it and it always stays in place. I buy them at Wal Mart for about $7 bucks in the sporting goods section. It will say KNEE STRAP on the pkg., the strap itself is black and I believe its made by Athletic Works.
  19. Liquid ? :-? You think? :-?
  20. You should get one of the elbow straps now before you can't even hold a fishing rod without pain. If it gets bad enough, a cortisone shot will help for a while but that's not a cure for it. The shot will wear off in time and you'll be in pain again. The elbow strap will help you big time.
  21. Wow, I thought we had more fisherman on this site. So far there are 110 views of this thread and only 20 people have voted.
  22. I didn't enable the multiple votes on purpose. I want to know what each individual fishes the most, not every spot they fish. So if you fish the local private pond thru the week 3 times and make a trip to the big lake on the weekend, the pond gets the vote.
  23. Just trying to get a decent reading on what type of water everyone is fishing. I hear reports of people catching from small ponds, lakes, creeks, etc....and wondering if one type is more popular than the other.
  24. Faircloth has a 21 point lead going into the last tournament. One lost fish could be very costly.
