I wouldn't think they would do anything else until they see how the no co-angler thing works out for the pro's. A big move like that would take some major restructuring....and the 50 that get left out would almost certainly fish the FLW Tour during their time 'off' from the Elite's. BASS doesn't want that to happen. The Elite's are set up pretty good right now even with co-anglers in my opinion. In 2007, there was only two repeat winners the whole year and that included 3 Major tournaments (which they canned) KVD won 2 in 2007 and Boyd Duckett won 2 in 2007. So far in 2008, KVD is the only repeat winner with 2 and 2 to go. Doesn't seem like a whole lot was wrong with the Elite Series with so many different anglers winning. Does BASS enjoy fixing things that aren't broken? Sure looks like it.....and you know how that goes.

You're right bighead, once the club boat starts rocking, people are quick to jump off. I've seen that up close in a few clubs over the years. Heck, I've seen meetings come to blows before over stuff like that. ;D Those clubs eventually folded because they only had 2 or 3 members left.....usually the club 'founders'.

What does your Club Rules say about things like that? Sounds a little fishy to me. I would definitely voice my opinion if it bothered me or else they'll keep doing the same stuff.

Arnel is the real deal. He beat out a guy from here in Roanoke for the lead singer job. Jeremy had already been to San Fran to try out, helped them write one of their new songs, the band liked him and were about to sign him until they saw Arnel at the last minute on YouTube. They ended up passing on Jeremy.

I do a lot of cranking and I've used the Browning Silaflex rods for a long time and still do to this day. They aren't the lightest rods you'll ever pick up but not many glass rods are very light and for $35 bucks, you can't beat that.

If you've got some fade going on already you should probably try a cleaner wax or even a mild rubbing compound that will cut the oxidation as you rub it in. Then follow with a polishing wax. 3M Imperial Glaze is the best polish wax I've ever used. If the cleaner wax or rubbing compound doesn't cut away the oxidation you may have to go the wetsand/rubbing compound/clean wax/polish wax/sealer route which is A LOT of work but it will bring back the shine of the gel coat.

I'm on the hunt for a new ride right now.....only problem is Gambler's are hard to find, and a Gambler that is not white is even harder to find. I may have to buy a new one but I really dont want to. I'd rather someone else buy it new, knock the first $10 grand of depreciation off of it before I buy it. Sounds like thats what happened in your case. Nothing wrong with that. I fish mental tournaments everytime I hit the water whether it be a 4 hr trip or an 8 hr trip and what part of day I start does not matter. If I'm on my boat, I'm fishing like I'm on the clock. I will just go and ****** 5 as fast as I can, usually a shaky head or AB Trick Stick on some docks. Getting some bites, big or small, helps get everything flowing. I don't count any fish that are not 14". After I get 5 keepers, I will almost always start fishing deeper water with a jig or deep crankbait, especially in the summertime. Then just prior to tournament day, I take everything from the practice period and sort thru it all. If I've found a good concentration of quality fish I'll go straight to them and catch all I can. If not, I go back to the shaky head and Trick Stick approach....then move around for bigger fish later. You can win a tournament with less than five fish....but why chance it?

Its good that the UFC has some competition, I just hope it doesnt turn out like Boxing did with all the different belts and none of the different sanctioning bodies willing to let the best of the best fight each other. That's what killed boxing. I hope those running the MMA world won't let that happen.

Talk to Burley, he fishes those lakes right often. But remember, he is the dinkmaster and you'd probably have to catch all the quality fish to be weighed.

He's only done with the UFC, Fedor fights for Affliction and Randy will probably do the same just to get that fight. He has to be out from under his UFC contract first though and that should expire pretty soon. Affliction is making a legit run into the MMA arena, the card they had last night was stacked and the PPV ratings were better than expected.

I'm not sure what the cost will be for an observer to ride all 4 days but I'd say at least $400.....so with 100 anglers needing a babysitter, BASS/ESPN stands to make $40,000 bucks of free and clear money from the observer pool at each tournament. $40K x 11 = $440,000. Looks like the pro's wanted the co-anglers cut out and BASS saw an opportunity to rake in some free money.
