JUST ORDERED A BPS FRITTS BAITCASTING REEL
If the newest black ones are as tough as the first beige colored ones, you've got a very good deep crank reel. I bought a new black one last year in case something happened to my old beige one....I'm still using my beige one and believe me, it gets used A WHOLE LOT. And it will outcast any other reel that I own. No kidding. Now go get yourself some DD22's, some Muscle Deep 15+, some DT16's and catch some big'uns.

Carrot Stix OR Cumara Rods
Spray-paint??? :-? Just dont do it to mine 5BL. Nah....that would probably mess with the sensitivity somehow. I do, however, like the Skeleton reel seat on the Carrot spinning rod a little better than the Cumara spinning seat....but I'll get used to it.

Carrot Stix OR Cumara Rods
If it was my money, I'd go with the Cumara. I just got one today and it is sweet. Tin2Win sent me 2 of his Carrot Stix to try while his holes are iced up and they are sweet rods as well.....light and sensitive, just like they advertise them to be, I just cant get past the color.....its distracting. ;D If they ever make them in black, I'll buy a couple of 'em.

Apparently yet another JDM Revo
I'd just like to have an interpreter friend around to read that stuff to me. That thing could weigh 12 oz's, have only 3 lbs of drag power and been refurbished and I'd never know it.

A box showed up on my doorstep today...
Yep

Who on BR would you like to fish with?
;D

Great Googily Moogily: REVO Bling!

Interesting addition to Abu Garcia's website
I ordered two sets of 5.4:1 gears for a couple of my Revo's today. I was hoping they had 5.1:1 but...... They had gear sets for the S, SX and STX. I hope I can figure out how to change them out and put the reels back together without having any left over parts. ;D Gears were a little pricey in my opinion....$25.47 per set plus $6.95 shipping.

Interesting addition to Abu Garcia's website
I'll let you guys know how it goes after I talk with them tomorrow. I have an 800 number that was given to me by a guy who's already switched gears on his Revo's. I'd put the # up here tonight but I want to make sure I get a few sets ordered and the # isn't busy all morning tomorrow. ;D Carry on.

Interesting addition to Abu Garcia's website
Micro, I'm ordering some new gears for my Revo's tomorrow....converting a couple of them to 5.2:1 ratio.

Fishing Footbal jigs deep? What do you do to make it work?
Easy there brokejew, you're about to hit 1,000 posts! As for trailers, I like the Power Bait chunks and also the Chigger Craws. I think the Power Bait scent attracts more bites plus makes 'em hold it just a little longer.....and ANY longer on a jig bite makes a big difference.

Fishing Footbal jigs deep? What do you do to make it work?
I will usually just bump it along a flat bottom that doesn't have much cover on it. On rocks I like to hop it a little more frequently just to get it up and over the rocks where they can see it. On an especially muddy bottom, I'll use a heavier football and try to drag it so it kicks up a little mud trail. Sometimes you just have to do it all in order to get bit. Once you catch a few, it's going to be hard to put down.

Kinami Hardbaits
So how cheap are they at Academy now? I'll be glad to buy any of the billed cranks they have left and maybe a few of the traps. Or I can trade you some Larew stuff that clogs the pegs around here. Let me know. Seriously.
-
Seriously,do you guys carry a rod and reel combo for every type of fishing you do?
Catt, I dont see a carolina rig listed anywhere....I thought you were going to start riggin' this season.

Kinami Hardbaits
T-Rig, I use the Kinami baits all the time. I ordered a pile of them from Brad Coovert at JBC Outfitters a year or two ago. Also bought some poppers and traps. They are pretty good cranks for the money in my opinion. They have a kind of in between type of action, not too wide, not too tight....almost like a LC CB-200. Only knock I have with them is that even though the paint jobs are really slick looking, the paint itself is not very durable.....and they could have a better color selection. They are the most used $4 dollar cranks I own....well, except for my DD22's

It's about time!
Me too! Nice fishes BJ!

Mod Question
FBL, I don't understand why your post is directed to me. Unless there's something in there that I missed, it is totally unrelated to my original post. ??? Marty, I copied a little from your original post and this is what I was referring to, so it's not totally unrelated. The type in bold is what I was referring to in my post. Maybe I misunderstood, please explain.
