  1. That is a giant. Nice catch!!!
  2. You shouldn't have any problem catching bass on those baits. I have used a variety of Senko style baits with success on all of them.
  3. Big Tom is now looking up more information on Norway.
  4. I bought them about a year ago but I haven't fished a big worm with them much at all. I will have to dig them back out and give them a fair shake soon. Until this post, I forgot I had them. I did notice that they do a really good job of keeping those huge worms in tact longer. So I would say they are worth it for that reason.
  5. It actually sounds pretty stupid. I don't know why they would put something like that in their magazine.
  6. Glenn, that is epic.

You are doing better than me, dude. Nice job on the eleven. Do you have any pictures? I don't fish cranks as much as I should. When I do, I usually find myself throwing a Lucky Craft RC 1.5.
  8. This thread should help you out: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1264551260/0
  9. If I am fishing it fast then it feels like you described. Sometimes they are taps and sometimes its just weight. I also get those bites where you pick up your rod and nothing is there at all.
  10. I haven't been able to get out in the last couple of weeks. You guys are killing me!!! Beautiful bass.

It could have been much worse and I am glad you made it out ok. Good luck getting everything sorted out.
  12. I don't use spinning gear much but when I do, this happens a bunch. ;D
  13. I thought his post made it sound as if they were dressed to be in a tournament. Maybe I shouldn't have assumed that. In any case, it doesn't take long to figure out that we share our waters with some truly idiotic individuals.
  14. 1. Not long ago I was tying a on a jig using a palomar knot. I bit what I thought was the tag end and threw my jig over the side of the boat. It wasn't the tag end. 2. I threw my buddies pliers in the lake once. Luckily I had the same pair and immediately gave them to him. He swears they aren't as good as the pair I threw overboard. 3. I threw two different combos in the lake on the same day. The first one was a Powell and a Patriarch. It slipped out of my hands after a hard hookset on a stump. My friend was able to grab it before it sank real far. The second was a BPS Pro Qualifier combo. I was casting left handed and somehow just let go of the combo. It sank 30 feet to the bottom. I caught the combo about 10 minutes later with a Rat-L Trap.
  15. There are idiots all over the world. Some of them just happen to like tournament fishing.
  16. I wonder how successful this reel will be at that price point?
  17. I searched the forums and the only thing I could find about Powerbait and JJs is one person saying that Powerbait does not particularly get along with JJs. I guess I was getting that confused with Strike Kings 3X baits. Disregard my previous post.
  18. I share your same feelings. I guess we are in the minority because there are very few rod companies that make their rods exactly "right" as far as power is concerned. The Daiwa Zillion line feels just about perfect to me as far as rod powers per ratings and a lot of people say that they are rated too light. I have a 7' Heavy action Powell and it does feel a whole lot like what I would call a great medium heavy rod. The plus side to this is that you can really throw some light baits due to the softer tip. The 704 doesn't lack any backbone either. I have skied 3.5 - 4 pound bass across the top of the water with this rod. I also own a Powell flipping rod (766 Mag Heavy) and this thing is a broom stick. I feel that it is perfect for its recommended purposes.
  19. Congratulations guys. I look forward to reading your impressions of these rods.
  20. I have made several orders from there and never had a problem with any of them. I agree with everyone else...call them.
  21. It looks good. It really is a whole lot of dollars for a spinning reel, though.
  22. It makes things hard on Big Tom too. And I ain't even old yet!!!
  23. I use and love Powell rods. They are amazing rods at their price point.
  24. I think I remember reading that you DO NOT want to use JJ's on powerbait. I could be mistaken though.
