  1. Well Zoom, smallmouth will most certainly eat bluegill. Another good thing to put in is some crawfish, catch them in a stream and see if you can get a good population going. I dont know what Nebraska is like but put some smallmouth in and see if it works. If you do put some smallmouth in then make sure there are plenty of rocks. If there is not then throw some basketball size boulders in and some buckets of rocks. Smallmouth prefer rocks over any other cover. I would just put largemouth in or keep them in there. There is no reason that they cant be. This way you dont know what your gonna catch. Smallmouth are fun to catch but they dont get as big as largemouth. Good luck
  2. Let me know how you know how you do. When do you think you will get to try it?
  3. You might get more hook ups, but I dont think it will give you a very good action. Maby a unique one, but probobly not a very good one. Good luck
  4. Hey guys, need help on this one. Do any of you know some good websites for local lake temperatures in Pennsylvania? Could only find one on Erie. Thanks
  5. I like topwaters when its pretty calm.
  6. Not really any advantages, they just have different characteristics.
  7. Nice fish. Looks like a real nice pond in the backround.
  8. Hey guys, I fish the Yough Dam and amagine a few of you do too. This lake doesnt have much cover. Where do you catch the majority of your smallmouth? Does anyone catch very many largemouth too. I have seen some real big ones in there but not very many. Thanks
  9. Im not a jig fisherman, but people can tell you all the things they want but you still need to see for yourself. Go out and put a little time into swimming a jig during spring. For spinnerbaits, it would not be my first lure choice for 54-58 degrees.
  10. Im not a huge fan of Donegal.
  11. In that case Marten's will for sure beat the record!
  12. I respect him but he is not the best fisherman.
  13. Quick Question: How many days is the tournament? 3 or 4?
  14. Hey guys, just wondering if anyone had an estimate for spawn time at Erie? Anyone with a good guess? Thanks
  15. Hey guys, just wanted to know what sensitivity you set your depthfinders at? Thanks
  16. Get a variety of them. The ones that swim(soft plastic) and the ones that have legs and are more for slop(built in hooks). Weeds are best for me. A little or a lot of weeds, doesnt matter, are the best place to fish them. The slop ones, make the frog look like it is swimming. Short movements. The soft plastic ones either burn them on the top or reel them very slowly on the top. These are some good techniques for starters.
  17. Allright I fish ponds like this too. If there is no cover then find even rocks or the smallest peices of rubble. They will probobly hold fish. Use bottom bouncing baits to locate these things. Good Luck, let me know how you do
  18. I dont think they work as well. They are not as soft as a Yum Dinger(senko that i use) and just dont equal up to ith in the end of the day.
  19. Yeah I was pretty excited. Abu Garcia Revo SX with a Bass Pro Extreme 7' MH rod. Cant wait to try it out.
  20. I also nicked the cork handle too? OK?
  21. Yeah im near cranberry just north of Pittsburgh. I fish Lake Aurthur, Lake Erie, and Lake Wilhelm. Some more south that you may never heard of Highpoint Lake, Cranberry Lake, and Yough Dam.
  22. Nice DD's man!
  23. Buy some and always keep them with you if the bass are short striking it. They will be useful if they are.
