  1. I own 4 all stars and I love them very much.
  2. Great spot and nice, chunky fish.
  3. The day I do not enjoy fishing is the day I put a bullet in my head. Maybe if I fished tournaments it would be different . It is hard for me to even comprehend how someone gets tired of fishing. Maybe you should see a shrink
  4. If you do not think that this is a dangerous situation you are sorely mistataken. No sense in rehashing what has been said in another thread but this is something that has the potential to greatly affect us and others. In some sense it already has as we have seen an increase in oil prices. By the looks of your pic, you are not that old so it is normal to have the perspective that "if it doesn't affect me I do not care". If I am wrong I appologize. I greatly enjoy watching and reading the news as I take pride in being an informed citizen. We are in a very fascinationg time of our history and have the ability to learn what is happening in other parts of the world in an instant. I think that if you watch more and read more of the news you will see how interesting it can be.
  5. That looks like a beautiful area. I don't think those even qualify as bass ;D
  6. Great fish. I hear nothing but good things about Texas hunting and fishing.
  7. I went to a nearby pond today around 5:30 for some top water action. I caught 6 on top using a Zara spook jr. (g-finish blue shad) and 5 using a watermelon senko. The bass were real aggressive on top and several fish knocked the "mini-sub" a foot or two out of the water. The big fish of the day just sucked it in and the fight was on. I gave him a quick jerk and held on. He took out a fair amount of line on several runs, danced on top 3 or 4 times, and tried to wrap me in weeds. I had to go into the water to get him pass some reel thick grass then got back on land to land him. He put up a great fight and made for an AWESOME morning. I did not have a scale but he was 21" long and had a 14" girth. 8-)
  8. I think that is the first positive remark that I have read of yours and I could not agree anymore.
  9. Funny, I never percieved him as that kind of player.
  10. I always kiss them before sending them onto the field of battle.
  11. Where on the Gulf Coast. I live near the Gulf in Alabama. Live shrimp works great but if you are fishing jetties there may be to much current to fish with a bobber. Use a egg singer and leader with a bait hook. Bull minnows, mullet and cigar minnows are good for the larger reds. You may also want to try a trout lure which is two small jigs tied to a single rig. You can find them @ Wal-mart for $1-2.
  12. We have caught lots of eels in brackish rivers while fishing for reds and trout. They are the slimest things ever. I do not know why anyone would target these things intentionally unless you are gonna use them for cobia bait.
  13. You know the monkey wants a Loomis ;D
  14. Let me guess. Your Dad was looking for a lure in your tackle bag and came across your stash and this was the excuse you came up with
  15. That red will chip off before to long.
  16. That is a real nice catfish!
  17. Good job. That is a nice looking pond. Enjoy your stay.
  18. Go get a three way swivel. Tie one section of line(3') with a pyramid sinker (oz or more) and <15# test. Tie the other section of line (3')with 20# test or more wind a single shank or treble hook. Kahle and circle hooks are great. Use live shrimp, cigar minnows, pilchards, croakers, menhaden, or sandfleas for bait. Sit back and enjoy a few cold ones. You can also use a balloon tied about 2-4' above the hook with live bait. Or rig with a large egg singer, swivel, leader, hook/bait (my favorite). If you want to stick with artificial. Bucktails, spoons, and mirror lures work great. Why does basspro suck?
  19. Should have deep fried his legs. Mmmmmm, frog legs.
  20. That thing is huge My birthday is on the 20th... When are we gonna go fishing? ;D
  21. As always, great fish. What type of swimbait?
  22. Cool pic! What type of camera and lens do you have?
  23. Glenn- I still have not received my VIP pass. Are you sure that you mailed it to the right address?
  24. JCV- I have the perfect product for you. I love using a carolina rig so I fell in love with the carolina keeper(CK). Instead of having to tie a leader you just squeeze the CK with a pair of needle nose pliers and thread the line through, which can be adjusted later to change your presentation. What I like most is you do not have to retie to throw a texas rig or to adjust. You can find them @ BPS. Here is a picture.
  25. Still funny.
